Vicon Industries, Inc. announces Valerus 22.1 VMS early adopter release for enhanced platform centralisation

Vicon Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of Cemtrex Inc., a globally renowned designer and manufacturer of video surveillance and access control software, hardware, and components, has announced the early adopter release of their Valerus VMS (Video Management System).

This release helps customers further centralise their security operation, through Valerus’ Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) and access control Integration Frameworks, gives users more storage and archiving flexibility, and improves the overall user experience.

Vicon Industries, Inc. will be showcasing the Valerus 22.1 VMS at ISC West 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Attendees can view the Valerus VMS in action, at the Vicon booth # 7083, at ISC West 2022, from March 23 to March 25, 2022, at the Venetian Expo.   

With the latest updates to the Integration Framework, users can monitor licence plate recognition and access control from Valerus’ streamlined interface. They can see and respond to live events as they happen, view associated video, and trigger door overrides, such as lockdowns, without leaving the monitoring window.

The latest user experience enhancements come directly from customer feedback. These updates include streamlined user management, centralised monitor management, and new user-friendly HTML camera reports.

This release also includes updates to make storage and archiving more flexible. Valerus can now map directly to network storage devices, whether a NAS device, someone else’s computer, another server, or even a data centre.

This gives users more control of their data, thereby allowing them to store long-term footage, without the limitations of their local storage capacity. This is ideal for facilities that want only short-term video storage, on a local machine, but for security purposes, prefer to have Valerus store long-term footage, on a secure network server.

Valerus 22.1 VMS allows users to schedule archives conveniently, access archived footage without frustration, and set up in minutes, with absolute flexibility. Users can schedule archives to occur whenever they want, whether they want them to archive in real-time or only at night when bandwidth usage is low.

Users also have a choice of recording all video or only video around events, such as motion detection, in order to save space on their archive device.

Extensive testing by Vicon’s beta team

This release has been tested extensively by the company’s beta community and is a stable release. It comes as an early adopter release to give the wider Vicon community the opportunity to provide feedback before formally updating the production version of Valerus.
