Isorg, a pioneer in Organic PhotoDetectors (OPDs) and large-area image sensors, has announced the appointment of Dieter May as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), in order to transform the company from an SME into a major corporation.
Dieter May takes over from Isorg’s Founder Jean-Yves Gomez, who has successfully led the company’s technological and industrial development, since its creation in 2010. Mr. Gomez will now devote his time to driving future generations of technology, as the company’s Chief Innovation Officer.
Isorg appoints new Chief Executive Officer
Mr. May joins Isorg from Osram Opto Semiconductors, in Munich, Germany, where he was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the last three years. With a distinguished career in the hi-tech field, he brings to Isorg extensive experience of top-level industrial business management in semiconductors, software, automotive and mobile communications.
Dieter May has over 30 years of experience in world-renowned organisations, driving transformational change and product innovation in optoelectronics and digital products, and services, beyond Osram Opto Semiconductors to include other major global multi-national corporations, such as BMW, Nokia and Infineon.

Isorg offers a range of innovative, slim-format and easy-integration security and identity solutions. The company’s biometric modules are approved for use in security applications. Its larger-area Fingerprint on Display (FoD) solutions is targeted for smartphone user authentication, enabling users to make higher value mobile data transactions more securely.

Large-area image sensors and biometrics solutions

Isorg’s large-area image sensors and biometrics solutions are based on organic photodiodes, a transformational technology that can convert a substrate, such as plastic, glass or CMOS, into an optical sensing surface. It operates a state-of-the-art industrial plant in Limoges, France, for mass producing OPD sensors, and an R&D centre in Grenoble, France.
