American Dynamics, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, has announced that Gabby Logan, a U.K. sports broadcaster and television personality, has chosen a IP video surveillance system from American Dynamics and West Sussex –based integrator Vindex Systems to safeguard her London home. A premier television sports broadcaster, Logan has covered the London Olympics for BBC and traveled the globe covering England’s football team, coverage that will continue this month during the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Working with Vindex Systems, a specialist integrator of CCTV, access control and automatic number plate recognition solutions, the Logans selected a system that incorporated the VideoEdge Network Video Recorder (NVR) and Illustra 600 outdoor mini-dome cameras. Using a monitor at home, the Logans can actively watch the video from the cameras on the grounds, view recorded video with the VideoEdge NVR, or save snapshots of specific video images. “As a busy professional, Gabby and her husband Kenny realised they needed to implement some type of system that allowed her to keep an eye on things at home while she took care of business on the road,” said Clive Talbot, Director, Vindex Systems. “We were pleased to offer her an efficient and comprehensive video surveillance system that allows her to remain connected.” The system is also equipped with the mobile app VideoEdge Go, a full-featured video surveillance viewer for the VideoEdge NVR that enhances the day-to-day experience by facilitating remote monitoring and forensic investigating from anywhere. Compatible with all iOS devices, VideoEdge Go streams video via a wifi, 3G or 4G connection in H.264 rather than MJPEG for more efficient bandwidth and storage usage.
