Challenge

A large international bank in Spain needed to upgrade their video surveillance system and put in place a path for future expansion. A high-quality, highly reliable system was required for covering a number of distributed buildings and facilities located around the country, including high-traffic retail and customer areas, training facilities, and the bank headquarters.

Additionally, security managers needed to deploy an aggregated system with the ability to view and control the system from any point within the corporate network from desktops, laptops and mobile devices. Video analytics technology for perimeter intrusion detection, and the ability to integrate with existing access control and fire detection was also required.

Solution

A Pelco Endura™ IP Video Management System (VMS) was selected in order to create a fully-distributed system, incorporating existing cameras as well as hundreds of new IP cameras, and allowing for the high level of aggregation and integration needed. Endura is ideal for mission-critical operations requiring around-the-clock monitoring and unwavering reliability. Endura systems are being used for the larger facilities, and Digital Sentry DSSRV systems deployed at the smaller locations.

The image quality of Sarix Enhanced Range IP cameras, combined with the ease-of-use and scalability of Endura and Digital Sentry, has provided operators and management with the ability to easily monitor, capture and review video from across this country-wide system.
