Securitron, an ASSA ABLOY Group company, is highlighting its new R100 Surface Mounted Wireless Reader with Aperio® technology within the Mobile Innovation Showroom (MIS) at the ASSA ABLOY booth 3559. The R100 is capable of mounting on glass, stone, granite or marble entryways, and significantly extends the reach and application of access control, when paired with a variety of hard-wired electromagnetic or electric locking devices.

“The R100 is an aesthetically appealing choice for those who wish to add access control to a door where wires aren’t an option, making it perfect for glass,” said Wendy Bowman, Director of Marketing, EMS & OEM Group, ASSA ABLOY. “Designers and architects are finding both environmental and cost-saving benefits of using glass over other materials - especially when designing to LEED standards - so we’ll continue to develop products tailored to this market.”

Installing the R100 requires no drilling or pulling of wires to the door and can adhere in a few minutes. The installation is further simplified with Aperio, which wirelessly links the R100 to a new or existing access control system. The R100 is designed to operate in a wide range of outdoor temperatures and is resistant to moisture, heat and cold.

The R100 wirelessly transmits credentials for request to entry in real time using existing ID badges. The R100 reader is available in high and low frequency models, supporting a range of RFID formats and is compatible with NFC smartphones via Seos.

The R100-1H is also available as a pre-configured reader and hub kit for non-certified Aperio distributors.
