News International Ltd is a British newspaper publisher owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. The company's major titles are published by three subsidiary companies, Times Newspapers Ltd, News Group Newspapers 1 and NI Free Newspapers Limited. At heart of the system at their new premises in Enfield is a scalable security management solution encompassing complete access control, CCTV, advanced event and alarm monitoring as well perimeter protection.

Effective management tool

The new security system provides News International a more effective management tool that not only controls ingress and egress but also offers the group the ability to manage such entities as muster control, fire alarms, general alarm system, time and attendance, CCTV and intruder integration. The central monitoring station controls entrance and exit, alarm monitoring, CCTV and disaster management to achieve a high level of security.

The access system is fully networked system across the site. All entries and exits from the buildings and the various sites are controlled through a single system including CCTV video management and visitor management applications. The control location looks after all administrative functions such as visitor management, entry and exit control commands and acknowledgement and response to all alarms. The site is also linked to a Central Receiving Station via a BT Redcare telephone link.

The central monitoring station allows News International to monitor activity from multiple systems from a single monitoring station. News International security staff can take full advantage of all of the monitoring station capabilities including viewing of all activity, events, maps and acknowledgement of events, all manual actions and viewing of all status screens.

Advantages
