The latest EverFocus CCTV product developments were presented at the IFSEC 2009 security show. All digital video recorder models with MPEG-4 compression technology are equipped with programmable motion detection, Ethernet interface, e-mail and network alarm functions, local and network PTZ control and a free EverFocus DDNS service enabling users to register their DDNS account directly from the DVR setup. The new "Paragon" DVR series incorporates the latest MPEG-4 compression technology with improved picture quality. Main features include pentaplex operation for simultaneous recording, playback and live view as well as network access, pre-alarm buffer and extended schedule setting including holiday calendar and express schedule functionality. The new "ECOR" DVR series is based on MPEG-4 compression technology and offers both enhanced recording capacity and improved network image transmission speed with high image quality. Comprehensive features and extended recording settings enable the almost universal application of this DVR. With the intuitive graphic user interface (GUI), users can command specific actions on the DVR through graphical icons and visual indicators. All GUI functions can be operated by multiple control inputs including mouse, front panel and IR remote control as well as control through the Everfocus keyboard EKB 500. Thanks to Pentaplex control, live monitoring, recording, playback, archiving and remote viewing can be operated simultaneously. The ECOR DVR series includes several models optionally equipped with audio function and/or built-in DVD-RW drive. All models feature real-time recording and playback with up to 100 IPS. At IFSEC 2009, EverFocus will also launch several new camera series. Within the comprehensive range of IR cameras, the 1/3" outdoor long range IR camera EZ 550 is one of the highlights. Besides the excellent video resolution of 530 TV lines in colour/day mode (b/w mode 560 TV lines), EZ 550 features automatic day/night switching, built-in motion detection with 4 zones and an integrated motorised 6~50mm DC varifocal lens. The IR distance can easily be enhanced to max. 70 metres by adding the optional IR illuminator kit EIR 100. The EverFocus camera range has further been broadened by a new speed dome range. Next to the well-known EPTZ 3000, 1000 and 500 speed domes, the latest day / night speed dome cameras EPTZ 3600 (36x optical zoom) and EPTZ 2700 (27x optical zoom), available as indoor and outdoor model, will be presented at IFSEC Birmingham. Main features of the new speed domes include various day/night switching options, alarm in- and outputs with tour / position auto triggering and a pattern function for 4 different patterns. EPTZ 3600 additionally offers 8 freely adjustable privacy zones. The speed dome range is completed by an extended range of accessories for installation and control, including the IP 66 connector box EPTZ PBOX, several mounting accessories and - last, but not least - the 10,4" TFT touchscreen control panel ECS 7710 capable of controlling both PTZ cameras and DVRs. The exhibition program presented on IFSEC in Birmingham is completed with the launch of the new, perfectly concerted EverFocus range of IP products. The 1.3 Megapixel progressive scan CCD day/night network camera EAN 1350 provides high-definition video with clear reproduction of fast moving objects. High sensitivity day/night mode is reached with automatic IR cut filter removal technologies and CCD sensor. With digital pan/tilt and electronic zoom, users can point and see the very details of the region of interest. EAN 1350 is equipped with simultaneous dual codec (MPEG4 / MJPEG), 2-way audio functionality and C/CS mount support with backfocus adjustment of the exchangeable DC lens. The 1.3 Megapixel progressive scan CMOS network camera EAN 900 comes with built-in H.264, MPEG4 and MJPEG multistream output for simultaneous live monitoring and high-resolution recording. Main features further include built-in digital motion detection function, built-in digital PTZ function, bidirectional audio and a pre-defined window for true-resolution snapshots. Both Megapixel cameras offer Power over Ethernet (PoE) to ease installation, IFSEC and maintenance. The IP camera range further includes the 1/3" advanced day/night network camera EAN 850 A, the 1/3" vandal-proof CCD network camera EDN 800 T with H.264/MPEG4/MJPEG multistream and the 1/3" IP outdoor camera EZN 850 featuring (amongst others) motorised 6~50mm DC varifocal lens, 9x optical zoom, 42 high-power IR LED and 5 adjustable privacy zones. With the 32/16/8-channel network video recorders ENR 3200, ENR 1600 and ENR 800, users can manage up to 32 channels from Megapixel cameras, IP cameras and video servers. The specialist team has been trained to mitigate the chances of somebody breaking into your home when the system is triggered; similarly they call the local authorities instantly so that the potential intruder has less time to flee the scene. Large event venues spend significant resources on physical security, and the vast majority invest in video surveillance systems as a way of monitoring public areas such as parking lots, garages and seating, as well as “backstage” areas such as loading docks and offices. Even though the camera footage is often preserved for investigating incidents, for the most part, video footage goes untapped because – realistically – security staff cannot constantly and efficiently monitor cameras in real-time or review the high volumes of archived video. Video analytics powered by Artificial Intelligence Increasingly, event venues are overcoming this challenge and maximising this video data by investing in intelligent video surveillance. In this article, I will explore how the combination of traditional surveillance and groundbreaking video content analytics enables event venues to not only optimise physical security and safety, but also improve customer service, streamline operations, and gather valuable business intelligence. Deep learning and artificial intelligence-based video content analytic systems detect, identify, extract, and catalog all the objects that appear in video footage based on classes and attributes such as gender, appearance similarity, color or size. This – along with behavioral detection, such as object interactions, dwell times, and navigation paths, as well as face and license plate recognition – enables searchable, actionable and quantifiable analysis of video. The technology makes it easy for users to accelerate post-event investigations, improve situational awareness, and derive critical business insights from video data. Using the same cataloged metadata that drives video search, intelligent video surveillance accelerates real-time response to developing situations from threats and suspicious behaviors to emergencies, or even any behavior that requires closer monitoring or intervention. Something as mundane as an unwieldy queue forming at a concession stand can alert logic that increases operators’ situational awareness and ability to effectively intervene. By understanding developing situations in real-time, they can respond more quickly to prevent or solve a problem. If they’re able to extract the perpetrator’s face or license plate from the video search, security officers can also identify and track the specific person and vehicle of interest. On-site retailers can uncover how visitors navigate their stores and the products or spaces that draw the most attention. Property management can follow heatmaps demonstrating where visitors dwell and the durations they stay at certain exhibits or areas, to base rental and leasing fees on actionable and quantifiable intelligence. Operations managers can more effectively plan and hire staff for events, by analysing visitor traffic trends, entry and exit points and occupancy statistics. President David Huang said it’s the only camera with two Fisheye lenses to provide a floor to ceiling, 720° view with no blind spots. It’s ideal for security environments such as airports, train stations, city streets, harbors and highways. The camera uses advanced computer vision technology to simulate a three-dimensional, highly realistic, and practical 3D space. It’s water-proof, vandal-proof and dust resistant, making it ideal for outdoors. It also boasts IR Night Mode for clear images even in dark environments. Huang also demonstrated new facial recognition IP dome camera with cutting-edge AI. It can recognise human faces in 1.5 seconds, making possible identification of authorised versus un-authorised personnel, creation of blacklists for restricted personnel, and VIP lists to improve relationship management. Intruitive touch LCD switch PLANET explained how the Intuitive Touch LCD Switch makes it possible to easily manage powered devices in real time, greatly enhancing network management efficiency. Tammy Huang, Sales Manager, noted that it’s the unique touch LCD that makes such management possible. In addition to the touch LCD interface, the solution features L2+ switching, intelligent PoE management and an ONVIF support function. An Industrial flat-type touch LCD switch model is also offered, making possible management of large-scale networks.VIVOTEK’s Smart Stream II and H.265 technology allows users to benefit from reduced bandwidth and data storage demands VIVOTEK’s network cameras With the theme ‘Security within Security,’ Shengfu Cheng, Director of Marketing and Product Development, demonstrated the first cybersecurity enhanced network cameras in the IP surveillance industry. The three new cameras are armed with Trend Micro’s anti-intrusion software, allowing them to automatically detect and prevent credential attacks and block suspicious events. They also feature VIVOTEK’s Smart Stream II and H.265 technology, allowing users to benefit from reduced bandwidth and data storage demands by up to 90% more than systems employing H.264. Low-light surveillance Add to that a new generation of night visibility technology, Supreme Night Visibility II (SNV II) which allows them to reproduce high-quality colour images, even in very low-light conditions. In the security industry, the United States is the largest buyer of electronic security products and spent $12.3 billion on imports in the field in 2016. Report from IMS Research cites adoption of HD and high megapixel video surveillance systems Major global players in the world of security and safety are responding to rapid demand surges and accelerating delivery of innovative leading-edge products, services and solutions.
