Genetec Inc is requesting contributions for the seventh edition of its global State of Physical Security report.
This annual study aims to gather insights on evolving trends in the physical security industry, with a significant response garnered from over 7,300 participants spanning six continents in 2025. The previous edition revealed a marked increase in AI adoption interest among end users and highlighted a shift towards viewing security as a strategic enterprise function that also provides business intelligence.
Strategic role of security systems
The findings from the report suggest that the role of security systems is expanding beyond mere protection, positioning itself as a critical component in enterprise strategy.
According to Guy Rushworth, Enterprise Account Executive at Genetec, “Our Physical Security report gives us a direct line to the people actually running security operations day to day – end users, integrators, and consultants. This feedback doesn't just shape our own thinking; it helps the whole industry understand where the real challenges are, and where physical security is headed next. Participation details
Completing the survey requires approximately 10 minutes, ensuring that all responses are kept anonymous. Participants are encouraged to submit their inputs by 21st September.
