Diligent has introduced significant updates to its AI-powered platform, Diligent One, during the recent Gartner Enterprise Risk, Audit and Compliance Conference (ERAC). These enhancements are designed to streamline governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) workflows and offer a comprehensive solution to common industry challenges.
The upgraded platform addresses the complexities often encountered in GRC tasks due to fragmented systems and manual processes, according to Brian Stafford, Diligent’s President and CEO. "Our latest agentic capabilities help teams cut through that complexity by connecting context, surfacing what matters and driving faster execution—while keeping governance and professional judgement at the center," stated Stafford.
Human judgement remains central
A key feature of the new platform is the orchestration agent, which offers GRC professionals a natural-language interface for coordinating audit and risk-related tasks. By enabling users to describe their needs, the system assigns tasks to relevant specialised agents. These agents leverage Diligent One’s integrated GRC data to automate various processes without supplanting human judgement.

Efficient reporting with AI
The updated platform also includes AI-powered reporting functionalities that convert real-time risk and controls data into board-ready reports rapidly. Using conversational prompts, teams can quickly produce detailed, secure reports, significantly reducing the time spent on data compilation and presentation preparation.

Underpinning Diligent One is the 'GRC brain', a connected intelligence layer that interlinks various components such as regulations, obligations, policies, and risks. This connection provides agents with a comprehensive understanding, akin to an experienced GRC professional. The intelligence layer enhances the platform’s ability to provide context-rich recommendations and deliver actionable insights, allowing teams to address gaps and respond swiftly to emerging risks. The GRC brain is set to be integrated into select Diligent solutions by October.

Instead of simply answering questions, it enables users to describe what they need, and routes work to the right specialised agents to execute workflows. Agents are built on Diligent One’s connected GRC data, giving them the domain knowledge to execute workflows across the audit and risk lifecycle, automating the work that slows practitioners down without replacing human judgement.
Through Diligent One, specialised agents:
- Help risk teams move from periodic assessments to continuous management by working directly in Diligent Enterprise Risk Management. The agent monitors risk data, cleans records, coordinates assessments, follows up on overdue actions, escalates issues and surfaces emerging risks.
- Help internal audit teams plan and execute audits faster by turning manual preparation into conversational workflows in Diligent Audit. The agent identifies relevant risks, maps them to audit objectives, links existing controls and supports evidence collection, testing and findings development.
Using conversational prompts
In addition, AI reporting turns live risk and controls data into board-ready reports and insights on demand. Using conversational prompts or templates, teams can quickly surface key findings and generate polished, secure, source-cited reports in minutes instead of days — eliminating hours spent manually pulling together data, insights and presentations.
