With the new IDS NXT oslo, IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH is systematically expanding its range of high-performance AI cameras.
The model combines artificial intelligence with first-class image quality, video streaming and recording functions in a compact, industrial-grade housing - protected to IP69K standard, the highest degree of protection against the ingress of dust and high-pressure water.

The centrepiece of the new camera is a chip from Ambarella, already known from its sister model, the IDS NXT malibu. It enables compressed video streams in full 5 MP sensor resolution (H.264, MJPEG) with over 25 frames per second.
The output takes place directly on the desired end device via RTSP protocol-without the diversions via an additional PC for analysis or visualisation. This makes the camera ideal for applications that require live images, including AI-based overlays.
Benefits from automatic features
Thanks to the integrated ISP (Image Signal Processor), users also benefit from automatic features, for example for brightness, lens distortion and colour correction.
Together with the light-sensitive onsemi AR0521 sensor, this ensures excellent image quality even in difficult lighting conditions.
