Axis Communications has unveiled a range of innovative IP cameras aimed at improving deployment flexibility, enhancing edge intelligence, and facilitating the scaling of contemporary security systems.
This move underscores the merging of physical security and IT infrastructure, aligning with Axis’s strategy to integrate devices with business intelligence and insights within organisations.
Private cellular network integration
Among the advancements is the AXIS TP3604-E Private Cellular Back Box, which empowers high-performance IP cameras to function without the need for traditional wired connections. By connecting directly to an enterprise Private Cellular Network (PCN), these cameras can be swiftly deployed wherever PCN coverage and AC power are available, a significant step forward for security integrators.
The PCN's security framework, featuring SIM-based authentication, robust encryption, and controlled device provisioning, is designed to safeguard data and communications over distances of several kilometres per base station. The AXIS TP3604-E is slated for release in August 2026, initially in select EMEA countries.

Axis also introduces the AXIS P1486-LE Global Shutter Camera, marking a leap in capturing precise details during video surveillance. This pioneering camera employs a CMOS global shutter to produce distortion-free images of fast-moving objects, effectively eliminating motion blur. It is equipped with continuous and strobing IR illumination for clear vehicle and license plate capture, even in low light scenarios.
Utilising the ARTPEC-9 system-on-chip, the camera facilitates advanced edge analytics, ensuring real-time processing and intelligent data analysis on the device itself, which reduces server dependency. Available from June 2026, these cameras will be accessible via Axis’s distribution network.
Advanced edge-based analytics
Complementing the new camera technology is the AXIS License Plate Verifier, an analytics application developed by FF Group. This edge-based application enhances license plate recognition for both controlled vehicle access and free-flow traffic conditions, handling automated lists that can trigger automated actions like gate operations. The application can be licensed or trialed for 60 days at axis.com.

Axis has expanded its thermal portfolio to include the AXIS Q2802-E Bispectral Camera and the AXIS F2180-TE Thermal Sensor. The Q2802-E combines a high-resolution thermal sensor with a 4K visual sensor to support long-range detection and remote temperature oversight. The thermal-visual image fusion adds critical thermal data to the visual stream, enhancing situational awareness.
For discreet monitoring, the F2180-TE Thermal Sensor offers pinpoint temperature reading and alerts, ideal for space-constrained environments when paired with AXIS F91 main units. Both thermal solutions will be available in Q2 2026 through Axis distribution channels.
Comprehensive wide-area surveillance
The latest in Axis’s panoramic camera series, the M4337/38 PLVE and AXIS M4347/48 PLVE models, transform wide-area surveillance. These 6 MP or 12 MP true 360° cameras feature built-in IR for night-time clarity. The M4347/48 models integrate microphones for audio analytics, powered by the ARTPEC-9 chip, providing advanced analytics capabilities.
These cameras are robustly built to withstand harsh environments, with an IP66 and IK10 rating, and an operational temperature range from -40C to +50C. They will be accessible from Q2 2026.
Scalable access control systems
Enhancing its access control solutions, Axis has introduced new IP readers—the AXIS A4610 and A4611 Network Reader with keypad—and three new OSDP readers. These integrate seamlessly with Axis door controllers, offering a durable and flexible access control system that can be remotely managed, supporting an IP-powered interface for comprehensive access solutions. Available now, these readers can be sourced through Axis's distribution channels.
