  • Suprema unveils AI-enhanced access control hardware at Intersec 2026, pioneering cloud solutions.
  • BioStation 3 Max offers ultra-fast, accurate AI facial authentication for secure environments.
  • BioStar platforms provide scalable, unified access control integrating AI video intelligence.

Suprema, recognised for its AI-driven security solutions, unveiled its cutting-edge AI-powered access control innovations and a dual-platform strategy for on-premise and cloud-based management systems at Intersec 2026. Already a notable presence in the Middle East, Suprema's latest advancements aim to accelerate its expansion throughout the region.

The highlight of Suprema’s exhibit was a new generation of AI-enhanced access control hardware, featuring devices designed to optimise performance, accuracy, and deployment flexibility.

Advanced AI-based facial authentication

Building on the success of its predecessor, BioStation 3, Suprema introduced the BioStation 3 Max as its new flagship facial authentication terminal. This device is engineered for high-security and heavy-traffic settings, featuring an advanced neural processing engine for swift and precise AI-driven facial recognition.

With a large touchscreen and integrated VoIP intercom, it is well-suited for verification tasks at critical entry points like corporate headquarters and data centres. Additionally, the introduction of Power over Ethernet (PoE) addresses a frequent customer request, simplifying installation while reducing costs.

Efficient QR code and ticket authentication

The XPass Q2 was also showcased, highlighting its capabilities as an intelligent QR reader

The XPass Q2 was also showcased, highlighting its capabilities as an intelligent QR reader supporting various RFID card formats.

The XPass Q2 is designed to expedite access in high-traffic areas, utilising QR codes to alleviate congestion at entry points. It also provides reliable ticket verification for venues such as stadiums and public facilities, ensuring swift authentication to minimise entry delays. Its compact and durable design facilitates quick deployment and sustained performance in busy environments.

Comprehensive access control platforms

Suprema introduced two comprehensive access control platforms, BioStar X and BioStar Air, during the event. Scheduled for release in the first half of 2026, these platforms are designed to leverage Suprema's biometric technology fully.

BioStar X provides an integrated on-premise solution combining access control and video surveillance with extensive integration capabilities, suitable for a wide range of site sizes. Meanwhile, BioStar Air, a cloud-native platform, offers seamless connectivity for distributed sites, enabling straightforward deployment and maintenance without on-premise servers.

Unified monitoring and biometric integration

BioStar X integrates a unified security platform, merging access control with video surveillance

BioStar X integrates a unified security platform, merging access control with video surveillance through a single system capable of scaling from small to extensive installations. Its real-time monitoring console enhances incident response and operational efficiency through the use of interactive maps. AI boosters deliver advanced video analytics, detecting incidents like falls and intrusions.

BioStar Air, integrating Suprema's biometric technology directly with the cloud, removes the need for on-premise servers and simplifies the addition of new readers across various locations. Particularly beneficial for the Gulf region, it connects biometric access control with cloud-based time and attendance systems, leveraging secure mobile credentials without extra user licensing fees.

Enhancing financial crime prevention

At the exhibition, Suprema emphasised the capabilities of its Q-Vision Pro video analytics AI module, which is engineered to combat financial crime effectively.

Hanchul Kim, CEO of Suprema Inc., stated, “We introduced our latest technologies at Intersec because the Middle East consistently leads the adoption of biometrics, AI, and mobile access. Those trends align directly with Suprema’s strengths, making this region a natural showcase for where access control is heading next.”

Show full press release

Suprema, a pioneer in AI-powered access control and security solutions, showcased its latest innovations in AI-powered access control hardware and a clear dual-platform strategy for on premise and cloud access management solutions at Intersec 2026. Suprema is already a pioneer in the Middle East and these innovations are aimed at accelerating the company’s expansion here and in neighboring regions.

Suprema’s Intersec booth highlighted a new generation of AI-enhanced access control hardware, introducing devices designed to push performance, accuracy, and deployment flexibility at scale.

AI-based facial authentication

BioStation 3 Max builds on the success of BioStation 3, Suprema’s fastest-selling biometric terminal to date. Designed for high-security, high-traffic environments, BioStation 3 Max features an enhanced neural processing engine that delivers ultra-fast, highly accurate AI-based facial authentication, even in demanding conditions. With a large touchscreen display and integrated VoIP intercom, BioStation 3 Max is ideal for verification workflows at sensitive entry points such as corporate headquarters, data centers, and sensitive manufacturing facilities.

BioStation 3 Max becomes Suprema’s new flagship facial authentication terminal, replacing FaceStation F2. It also introduces Power over Ethernet (PoE), one of the most frequently requested features from customers in the Middle East, simplifying installation while reducing infrastructure and deployment costs.

Reliable ticket authentication

XPass Q2 is an intelligent QR reader that also supports a wide range of RFID card types and formats. It was designed to address two primary use cases: First, XPass Q2 accelerates access in high-traffic facilities where visitors authenticate using QR codes, helping reduce congestion at entry points.

Second, it enables fast and reliable ticket authentication for venues such as events, stadiums, and public facilities. Built for speed, XPass Q2 performs rapid authentication to minimise bottlenecks, even during peak entry times. Its compact design allows for quick deployment, while its rugged construction ensures reliable operation in demanding, high-traffic environments.

High-traffic environments

For the first time at Intersec, Suprema previewed two complete access control platforms designed to fully lock the power of its biometric technology. These are planned for official launch in the first half of 2026.

BioStar X delivers a unified, on-premise solution. BioStar Air is a cloud-native platform perfect for distributed sites. Both platforms support the same biometric, RFID, and mobile-ready hardware, allowing customers to choose the deployment model that best fits their operational, regulatory, and IT requirements, without compromise.

Unified monitoring console

BioStar X is Suprema’s unified security platform, combining access control, video surveillance, and extensive integration capabilities within a single system. It is designed to scale from small sites to large while consistently delivering a high-performance user experience when paired with Suprema’s advanced biometric readers.

A unified monitoring console provides real-time visibility into access events and video streams through interactive maps, accelerating incident response and improving day-to-day operational efficiency. AI-based enhancements enable advanced video intelligence and automation, with the ability to detect fall incidents, tailgating, and intrusion.

Biometric access control

BioStar Air is a fully cloud-native access control platform that connects Suprema’s world-pioneer biometric technology directly to the cloud. There are no on-prem servers to deploy or maintain, and adding new readers, even at different locations, is as simple as plugging in a network cable.

For customers in the Gulf region, BioStar Air stands out in two key ways. It increases trust in cloud-based time and attendance systems by seamlessly connecting them to biometric access control. In addition, BioStar Air includes secure mobile credentials as a standard feature, with no per-user licensing fees, making it easy to scale access without hidden costs.

Preventing financial crime

Suprema also highlighted Q-Vision Pro, a video analytics AI module designed to help prevent financial crime.

“We introduced our latest technologies at Intersec because the Middle East consistently leads the adoption of biometrics, AI, and mobile access,” said Hanchul Kim, CEO of Suprema Inc. “Those trends align directly with Suprema’s strengths, making this region a natural showcase for where access control is heading next.”
