The Security Industry Association (SIA) has unveiled the programme and list of speakers for the 2026 Perimeter PREVENT event, a significant gathering for those involved in perimeter security. Scheduled for 24 June in Washington, D.C., this symposium is organised by SIA with insight from its Perimeter Security Subcommittee.
It aims to bring together decision-makers from both public and private sectors, including policymakers, federal agency staff, and security professionals, to discuss pressing issues concerning perimeter defence across various environments like government buildings, critical infrastructure, and commercial sites.
Keynote speaker and agenda
The event on Wednesday, 24 June, will feature a comprehensive day-long symposium, highlighted by a keynote fireside conversation with Ret. General William J. Walker.
Currently serving as vice president and corporate security director at Allied Universal Security Services, Walker leveraged over three decades of substantial experience in security, military, and law enforcement roles, including his tenure as a special agent with the DEA and the 38th Sergeant at Arms in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Walker brings over 30 years of distinguished service in security, law enforcement and military leadership to his current role at Allied Universal. Walker was a special agent of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and served as the 38th Sergeant at Arms, U.S. House of Representatives, 117th Congress. Previously, he served as the 23rd commanding general of the District of Columbia National Guard, overseeing Army and Air National Guard operations and providing military support to civilian authorities.
