ADT has announced its membership on the Board of Directors of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), a global entity responsible for foundational smart home standards, including Matter, Zigbee, and Aliro.
This strategic collaboration positions ADT alongside major tech firms such as Apple, Google, Amazon, Samsung, and LG, underscoring its role in advancing secure smart home technologies.
Representatives from ADT, Alexander Crettenand and Tai Nguyen, will assume roles on the CSA Board, contributing their expertise in software and firmware engineering.

The smart home sector is experiencing rapid growth, providing both consumers and providers new avenues for development. Approximately 63% of households in the U.S. currently have at least one smart home device, with global expenditures on smart home technologies projected to reach $633 billion by 2032.
The importance of home security is rising, with ownership of security cameras increasing from 52% to 61% of U.S. households since 2024. Many device owners, around 40%, are now subscribing to services that offer continuous monitoring and protection, illustrating a shift towards ongoing service commitments.

The smart home market continues to expand rapidly, creating new opportunities for consumers and providers alike. Today, 63% of U.S. households own at least one smart home device, and global smart home spending continues to accelerate toward a projected $633 billion market by 2032. At the same time, home security has become a mainstream necessity, with 61% of U.S. households now having at least one security camera, up from 52% in 2024.1
While tens of millions of households have adopted smart home devices and sensors, sustained investment is increasingly tied to ongoing services that deliver real peace of mind and protection, such as 24/7 professional monitoring, emergency response and AI-driven insights. About 40% of security device owners subscribe to premium services, highlighting the shift from one-time purchases to continuous protection models.2
