The cloud forms a massive part of the overall IT landscape and spending in this type of infrastructure is set to grow exponentially over the next few years. Cloud-based access control in particular offers users the benefit of remote control over systems, flexible monitoring and an integrated approach to security.

Network latency and cybersecurity are other key concerns going into 2017, as we’ve seen a number of critical data breaches wreak havoc on both private entities and government agencies. Stakeholders have already been asking the question, “Is my data secure?” and today’s integrators and manufacturers will have the burden of proof in assuring them that safety is at the core of the products they sell.
