Milestone appointed Thomas Lausten as its Vice President of Sales for EMEA

Milestone Systems, the open platform company in IP video management software (VMS), is strengthening its organisation with a new Vice President of Sales for EMEA, a Public Relations Manager for EMEA, a corporate Director of Large Accounts and National Sales Managers in the Americas.

Thomas Lausten started this month as VP Sales, EMEA, and is also a new member of the Extended Leadership Team (ELT) in Milestone Systems. With proven competency as a professional manager, he will contribute to the strong growth curve that Milestone has attained since its founding in 1998.

Lausten brings solid expertise from the security industry in Europe, as well as broad cultural insight into the differences across the region. Throughout his career he has consistently performed, growing with his positions and responsibilities at Siemens Building Technology, Security Products, ADI Global Distribution, Bewator and Antech.

“We are eager to tap into Thomas Lausten’s knowledge about today’s security distributors and how run-rate business is built and managed in two-tier channels. I look forward to including Thomas in the Milestone management team and changing our DNA to cater to the work at hand in our ambitious strategic goals,” says Eric Fullerton, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Milestone Systems.

Keven Marier has moved from Connex International to become Milestone’s Director of Large Accounts Business Development. In an increasingly competitive market, Milestone has growing opportunities with large projects and end-users related to the Corporate Business Unit.

Milestone Co-founder and Chief Product Officer John Blem say: “In order to effectively address this opportunity, Keven will work with the projects in the high-end of the market. He will be taking a strategic role for the Corporate Business Unit, supporting the complex projects, ensuring consistent tie-ins between the product group and the field organisation which will benefit the channel and the customers. His forte is articulating the technical value proposition while evaluating strategic fit and impact on our future roadmaps.”

In October this year, Chris Wyller was hired as National Sales Manager Americas East for Milestone Systems Inc., complementing Brad Carey, National Sales Manager Americas West. Based out of Chicago, Wyller is managing the Eastern U.S. which includes the Great Lakes, Northeast, NYC/NJ, Gulf, Mid-Atlantic, North Central and Southeast territories, with the respective Channel Business Managers reporting to him. He has returned to Milestone Systems after a 3-year stint with Sony as Strategic National Account Manager. He was previously also engaged at Wesco/CSC and Siemens Building Technologies after getting his degree from Western Illinois University.

Jens Ole Steen (Joss) Svendsen is now PR and Communications Manager for EMEA in the Milestone Corporate Communications team. He has responsibilities for global product PR and Manufacturer Alliance Partner PR, EMEA-based customer stories and media relationship management. With a degree in Movies and Media from the University of Copenhagen, he also holds a Masters from the Institute of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen.

Joss was earlier with Carlsberg as Online Business Developer and with Microsoft as Online Marketing Manager and Partner Communications Manager. Prior to that he worked for PC World and Computerworld as Editor-in-Chief, Technology Editor and Journalist. Most recently, he freelanced in media production and digital business development.
