Ping Identity, the intelligent identity solution for the enterprise, has announced two major enhancements to enable secure and seamless digital experiences for employees and customers. The PingOne Cloud Platform now delivers the entire Ping Identity portfolio from a unified cloud admin and solves both workforce and customer identity use cases. Attribute-based access control Additionally, PingAuthorize enables enterprises with dynamic authorisation and attribute-based access control (ABAC), giving them a central place to authorise sensitive transactions and data, to comply with privacy regulations, reduce fraud, and increase agility. “Companies need to deliver exceptional customer experiences, while strengthening identity security,” said Andre Durand, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder, Ping Identity. Optimising security and convenience Andre Durand adds, “They also need to optimise the productivity and agility of their work experience. The PingOne Cloud Platform is designed to help companies optimise both security and convenience simultaneously, in an easy and streamlined way that meets their unique needs.” Details on the enhancements debuting from Ping Identity at Identiverse 2021 include: PingOne Cloud Platform PingOne for Customers enables companies to simplify the lives of users with SSO, multi-factor authentication The new PingOne Cloud Platform gives companies a single point from which to manage every Ping Identity product and service in their security arsenal. Ping Identity updated and unified its entire proven portfolio and innovative services in the Cloud, and solves enterprise challenges around workforce and customer identity. PingOne for Customers enables companies to simplify the lives of users with SSO, multi-factor authentication, and other identity services that deliver extraordinary customer experiences, while significantly improving security. PingOne for Workforce PingOne for Workforce connects any employee, contractor or partner to the resources they need. It enables companies to adopt cloud identity quickly and easily, through a central authentication authority in the Cloud that delivers one-click, single sign-on (SSO) access to any user. PingOne for Workforce is ideal for companies seeking to reduce worker password fatigue and the risks, like stolen credentials, that come with it. PingAuthorize Ping Identity has leveraged the acquisition of Symphonic to enhance its fine-grained authorisation solution. Formerly PingDataGovernance, PingAuthorize allows enterprises centralised authorisation, so they can mitigate fraud, comply with privacy regulations, and increase agility. This acquisition and solution enhancement makes the PingOne Cloud Platform the industry’s first identity platform to offer a robust, dynamic authorisation solution. The technology is able to recognise the context of a transaction, in order to determine whether access should be permitted. Dynamic authorisation Dynamic authorisation assembles and evaluates data attributes from anywhere in the enterprise, at the time of the transaction and conditionally authorises access to the data or services in real-time. It is designed for healthcare, banking, retail, education and any other enterprise that needs to protect their users’ or customers’ personal data, while also authorising sensitive tractions or data access.
Ping Identity, the intelligent identity solution for the enterprise, announced PingOne for Individuals at Identiverse 2021. The new personal identity solution empowers businesses to give their customers full control over how they securely store and share verified personal data without unnecessary friction. PingOne for Individuals enables enterprises to provide users superior digital experiences, protect customer privacy and reduce the burden of regulatory and compliance requirements by letting users manage their own personal data. Users can store and easily share their verified, always-up-to-date personal information with businesses or other individuals using a digital wallet on their mobile device. The process makes sharing employment history, transcripts, healthcare records, or other identity-related data simple. Verified data can be kept up to date in real-time by data issuers, and sharing it is as simple as scanning a QR code. This makes anything from completing loan applications to verifying the identity of a first date, fast, safe and easy. Authority Comments "The world is overdue for a simpler way for people to share verified information about themselves with businesses and other individuals,'' said Andre Durand, CEO and founder of Ping Identity. PingOne and the ShoCard wallet will ignite decentralised identity by allowing users to control their own data ”PingOne for Individuals and the ShoCard wallet will ignite decentralised identity by allowing users to control their own data, alleviating businesses from ownership and ultimately delivering improved security and convenience on both ends." "The global pandemic illuminated an opportunity to raise the health and safety bar for our high-risk clients in the senior living communities we serve," said Craig Shealy, CEO of Wayforth. "ShoCard and PingOne for Individuals will make it easy for every person that visits the campuses we serve to provide proof of vaccination status and training certifications to keep our clients healthy." How it works Official sources of personal identity data - credit bureaus, universities, pharmacies, etc. - can use the PingOne for Individuals solution to add verified credentials to a user's ShoCard digital wallet by sharing a link or having them scan a QR code. When a different business or individual needs to confirm the identity or information about a person, they can request it by having the user scan a QR code on their website, in the ShoCard wallet on their phone, or even a printed piece of paper. Sensitive data is never outside of the person's control since it is only stored in the digital wallet, which is protected by Hedera distributed ledger technology to ensure information is never modified or deleted. Technical, privacy and compliance challenges With PingOne for Individuals, businesses can alleviate the technical, privacy and compliance challenges related to customer data because the individual's data is not stored with the business, but on their mobile device. Enterprises can download the PingOne for Individuals SDK to start issuing cards for consumers This approach lowers the risk of fraud by requesting verified information from users. It also streamlines the collection of verified data from individuals to ensure the user experience is seamless while letting organisations leverage the data they need to successfully conduct business. Application download Consumers can download the free ShoCard wallet to their iOS and Android devices immediately via the app store. Enterprises can download the PingOne for Individuals SDK to start issuing cards for consumers to add to their ShoCard wallet and access the self-service issuance dashboard starting in July 2021. Additionally, in July, Ping will be offering an early-access version of PingOne Credentials, a no-code credentialing service integrated into the PingOne service that allows issuers to create custom card templates and issue credentials to users.
Ping Identity, the intelligent identity solution for the enterprise, showcases a continued commitment to open standards through the achievement of the Financial-grade API Client Initiated Back-Channel Authentication (FAPI-CIBA) certification. This certification enables enterprises to improve the consumer experience during authentication and authorisation for financial transactions. FAPI-CIBA is a security and interoperability standard from the OpenID Foundation for financial, insurance, healthcare, and other industries that require stronger API security when doing business with customers. Ping Identity is one of five identity security vendors - and the first enterprise-class vendor - to achieve the new Open Banking certification. Decoupled user authentication FAPI-CIBA is an authentication flow that improves the user experience by streamlining how users give digital consent when engaging with an enterprise. It decouples the interaction between devices people use to authenticate themselves from the device that requests access. FAPI-CIBA is an authentication flow that improves the user experience For example, when a customer makes an online purchase from a merchant, the user immediately receives a push notification sent to the financial institution's native mobile app, allowing the customer to avoid confusing redirects via web browsers. The new FAPI-CIBA certification means that enterprises can use Ping Identity's product suite to enable secure decoupled user authentication and payment approvals, with the assurance that it meets the rigorous FAPI conformance testing requirements. Advanced technical standards In addition to improving the customer experience, enterprises can leverage and stay ahead of evolving Open Banking standards. It also makes it easier for them to comply with the advanced technical standards as they are introduced. "Ping Identity is committed to improving the security of financial services through Open Banking standards," said Andre Durand, CEO and founder, Ping Identity. "From mobile banking to online purchasing to the use of third-party financial data aggregators, customers expect control over how and when they share their personal financial data. Ping Identity's FAPI-CIBA certified solutions give them the tools to meet those demands."

The pandemic-driven shift to remote work has significantly changed how companies are investing in identity and access management capabilities and zero trust security, according to a new survey from Ping Identity, the Intelligent Identity solution for the enterprise. The Ping Identity executive survey: growth in remote work fuels zero trust investment asked more than 1,300 senior executives across the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, and Australia about how the pandemic has impacted their IT resources and strategies. The survey found that a large number of companies will continue to have a majority of their workforce working remotely, prompting an increase in IT and information security investments in the form of staff and technology. Workforce identity procedures Along with increased IT investments, companies are also consolidating and rationalising their workforce identity procedures. Combined, they expect these efforts will address issues of security and compliance as well as employee productivity to deliver a superior experience regardless of where work is being done. Business leaders have been faced with an urgent need to invest more in identity security capabilities Business leaders have been faced with an urgent need to invest more in identity security capabilities to effectively secure employees and customers in a dispersed work environment, said Andre Durand, CEO, and founder of Ping Identity. Ping Identity, the intelligent identity solution for the enterprise, announces PingZero, a suite of passwordless authentication features organisations can implement to deliver seamless digital experiences to employees and customers. By eliminating login friction, including the need for usernames and passwords, PingZero boosts employee productivity, improves customer retention and acquisition rates, and strengthens cybersecurity defences — all with zero passwords and zero friction. PingZero uniquely leverages the Ping Intelligent Identity platform and other technologies including the FIDO2 standard to enable passwordless experiences across a variety of resources and applications. Advanced passwordless authentication Verizon’s investigative report found that passwords are one of the most common causes of security breaches and also a major barrier in digital experiences. In fact, by 2022, 60% of large global enterprises and 90% of mid-size enterprises will implement passwordless methods in more than 50 percent of use cases, predicts Gartner. That’s because passwordless features accelerate and increase adoption of remote work and digital-first initiatives while improving the security and cyber hygiene of customers and employees, who are burdened with keeping track of more usernames and passwords than ever before. PingZero’s advanced passwordless authentication utilises device and browser settings, biometrics, and the FIDO2 standard to provide enterprises with greater assurance that a user is who they say they are. Managing and resetting passwords PingZero enables businesses to work smarter by eliminating the time wasted managing and resetting passwords" The solution also removes interruptions like excessive login prompts or password resets, which not only cause strain on IT departments but deteriorate employee productivity and customer engagement. “PingZero was designed with a frictionless user journey in mind,” said Andre Durand, CEO of Ping Identity. “At Ping we are committed to delivering secure, convenient experiences for our customers and removing friction is a key component in our innovation evolution. PingZero enables businesses to work smarter by eliminating the time wasted managing and resetting passwords and instead provides users with more secure access to what they need to get work done efficiently.” Authentication authority solutions PingZero can be deployed across a broad range of enterprise resources including mobile, SaaS, legacy applications, and more. PingZero is available in multiple Ping offerings including the comprehensive authentication authority solutions, Customer360 and Workforce360. Key features include: User Self-Registration: A simple and convenient QR code-based sign-on process means no passwords are needed at the time of account creation. Customisation: Includes the ability for enterprises to use their own branded mobile application to implement PingZero without requiring third-party MFA applications for the user to download. Security and Compliance: Provides phishing-resistant, privacy-preserving authentication based on the FIDO2/WebAuthn standard. Continuous Authentication: Added convenience by requiring a user to re-authenticate only when certain risk thresholds are exceeded. Operating in the background, risk signals are tracked and monitored including changes in geolocation, IP address, device posture, and other factors.
Ping Identity, the intelligent identity solution for the enterprise, today announced the acquisition of ShoCard, a provider in technology designed to transform the way users manage their identity and engage with companies. The acquisition marks a significant step towards its vision of providing users with more control over their privacy while reducing fraud and streamlining user interactions with companies. With the adoption of this new technology, Ping Identity is paving the way for a new era in identity where individuals have more control over their personal information and how and when it is shared. Privacy-first user experience The technology allows individuals to collect verification of their identity and share it with businesses when establishing new relationships in a privacy-first user experience. ShoCard leverages the power of today’s mobile phones as a personal identity vault. Through integration with the Ping Intelligent Identity Platform which secures over 2 billion accounts, ShoCard allows users to collect and store personal identity information on their phone and then unlock and share that information using facial or fingerprint biometrics. The technology will be integrated into the Ping Platform and made available to all Ping customers as a new model for privacy and customer engagement. Verify information in real time The technology allows users to share only what is necessary and companies can verify that information in real time Personal identity, also called decentralised or self-sovereign identity, creates a new way for individuals to safely collect and share information about themselves to prove identity to others and gain access to services such as opening a bank account, refinancing a mortgage, buying a car, starting a new job and more. The technology allows users to share only what is necessary and companies can verify that information in real time. To populate the ShoCard identity wallet, companies share validated claims about users such as proof of employment, proof of salary, proof of education, proof of vaccination etc. Once received, individuals can share that information with others through text, email, QR code or other secure channels. Identity data-exchange In addition to both security and privacy benefits, this revolutionary new model of identity data-exchange will dramatically improve user experiences for both consumers and service providers by reducing the amount of time, money and effort that goes into identity verification, eliminating registration forms and allowing users to login with nothing more than a face or fingerprint biometric. A personal identity solution is long overdue in today’s market. Seventy percent of Americans believe their personal data is less secure now than it was five years ago and 84% say they want more control over how their data is being used. Ping’s personal identity model will address these concerns and empower businesses to differentiate themselves in a world where privacy and convenience are highly valued. Adopting a decentralised identity Decentralised identity and the renewed interest in protecting privacy and data ownership will be transformational" "Decentralised identity and the renewed interest in protecting privacy and data ownership (and monetisation) will be transformational. There is a reasonable indication that the winners in the next decade will be those that figure out the new formulas for adopting a decentralised identity. This will unlock a large market opportunity for digital business” wrote Homan Farahmand, Senior Director Analyst, Gartner in the January 2020 Guidance for Decentralised Identity and Verifiable Claims report. Ping Identity’s new personal identity solution includes an identity wallet which represents a groundbreaking, privacy-first approach to digital interactions. It contains sharable, validated claims from which users can select to share for a particular vendor, partner or resource. These validated claims could be from a driver’s license, passport, university transcripts, employment verification, vehicle registrations or bank account statements, and used in limitless scenarios. Identity security evolution “Personal identity is the next wave of the identity security evolution, representing a boon for business and consumers alike. Under this model, businesses can avoid storing sensitive data and the risks that come along with it, while customers can avoid sharing unnecessary personal information with service providers, ultimately creating a more trusted online experience,” said Andre Durand, CEO, Ping Identity. “Issues of privacy and mistrust are addressed when individuals can pick and choose what personal information to share with organisations to validate a fact about themselves. Ping Identity, the pioneer in Identity Defined Security, announced a cloud-based multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO) bundle, delivering security from identity-based attacks. Available today for a free 30-day trial, customers can protect applications, data and employees from pervasive security threats centred around phishing attacks, stolen credentials, and more. Organisations want ease of use, fast integrations and the ability to easily grow without needing to switch vendors as they mature. Ping’s cloud MFA and SSO bundle directly addresses this market need, with more than 2.5 million unique monthly users for the cloud MFA solution alone. The solution joins the rest of Ping’s product portfolio, which is used by more than 50% of the Fortune 100 and secures over two billion identities globally across the Ping customer base. Additional security for sensitive resources It’s equally important for customers to implement additional security for sensitive resources, high-value transactionsIdentity has become the most common vulnerability that hackers seek to exploit. While single sign-on solutions remain a high priority to increase user productivity and enterprise security, the surface area for cyber threats has expanded and attack methods have evolved. With these considerations, it’s equally important for customers to implement additional security for sensitive resources, high-value transactions and other elevated risk scenarios using multi-factor authentication. In Ping’s 2018 State of Enterprise IT Infrastructure & Security survey, it was revealed that 90% of respondents trust MFA as an effective security control to protect identity data in public clouds, yet only 60% of organisations have formally adopted it. The MFA and SSO bundle is specifically designed to help overcome these inherent challenges in MFA adoption by minimising associated burdens, while also providing seamless end user experiences and best-in-class solutions. Advanced features at an affordable price Ping’s new cloud MFA and SSO bundle helps enable fast and seamless integration of MFA for enterprises. Customers can benefit from the following features and functionality: Effortless integration: Integrations take place rapidly, making the transition seamless with existing infrastructures. Straightforward administration: With a centralised console and multiple self-service options, administration is easier than ever. Advanced access policies: Contextual policies—typically only found in the premium, high-priced MFA solutions in the market—grant administrators flexibility to help balance security and convenience for end users. Covering for many popular use cases: The cloud MFA and SSO bundle was built for easy deployment across popular use cases, including SaaS, cloud apps, VPN, Microsoft Azure, and more. Strongest security for enterprises “Ping Identity is committed to providing the strongest security possible for enterprises. The cloud MFA and SSO bundle delivers on this promise, while also maintaining a high-value user experience,” said Andre Durand, CEO, Ping Identity. “Organisations can benefit from the streamlined adoption process, pain-free management and cost-effective model, as it addresses the growing necessity for strong MFA and SSO.”
