Developing Solutions, Inc. dsTest v5.2 is available to all current customers with active support agreements. It is available for downloading from the Developing Solutions secure support website. All features available in v5.1 are carried forward into v5.2.

While many enhancements were added for continued support of 3G and 4G core network testing, the focus was expanding support for 5G Core network testing.

Implement automated testing

Release 5.1 included the initial release of N7 for 5G Policy Control Function (PCF) testing along with new features within the N2, N3, N4, N6, N8, N10, N11, N12, and N13 reference points. Isolation testing of Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), Session Management Function (SMF), and User Plane Function (UPF) have all benefited from the additional features added as has end-to-end testing of the 5GC.

To aid in the 3G/4G/5G core network testing, dsTest v5.2 also provides building block support to implement automated testing, including test case analysis to determine the resources required to successfully execute a test scenario.

Inline protocol dictionaries

SmartEvents, SmartMessageElement, and inline protocol dictionaries give them maximum flexibility

They are now considering feature candidates for dsTest v5.2. Please contact them if one has a feature that they would like to submit for consideration for this development cycle. Developing Solutions’ growing collection of Control Plane and User Plane applications and core network testing solutions gives dsTest the ability to identify problems and potential bottlenecks in the lab before they show up in their network.

One can easily scale an environment — simulating hundreds of millions of subscribers — to test network capacity, compliance, scalability, and redundancy. Additionally, features such as SmartEvents, SmartMessageElement, and inline protocol dictionaries give them maximum flexibility and control.

Graphical user interface

dsTest is a high performance, high capacity software solution that runs on several distributions of Linux. It is designed to take advantage of the latest processor and virtualisation technology to assist carriers’ and vendors’ evolution toward network function virtualisation and software defined networks. Carriers and vendors rely on dsTest for performance, compliance, and reliability validation of their networks.

dsTest is also accompanied by the dsClient desktop application, which allows easy configuration and control of the tool using a graphical user interface, and provides test monitoring and operational measurement reporting in chart or tabular form.
