Dallmeier has announced an expansion in its software maintenance offerings, adding a new package for cameras and recorders. This initiative allows customers to maintain the currency of their video security systems for up to a decade, providing enhanced investment protection and planning reliability over the long term.
Long-term planning has become increasingly essential, notably for public sector entities, operators of critical infrastructure, and businesses operating with extended investment cycles. Dallmeier's latest maintenance package permits users to extend software maintenance by an additional five years, thereby offering robust protection against cybersecurity threats.
This new maintenance offering is available for Panomera® systems, single-sensor cameras, and recorders. While cameras come with a standard five-year software maintenance coverage, the package extends this support to ten years in total. Similarly, recorder software maintenance can also be continued up to a decade.
Inclusion of software updates
The comprehensive maintenance package includes licenses for updates, upgrades, and security patches for both camera and recorder software for a further five years. Additionally, it includes licenses for updates to the neural network used in object classification. Known relevant CVE security vulnerabilities are addressed through these security updates, provided technical feasibility permits.
"With the option to plan software maintenance for up to ten years, we provide our customers with a high degree of investment protection and long-term planning certainty," stated Christian Linthaler, Chief Sales Officer at Dallmeier. "This is particularly vital for the sustainable operation of modern video security systems, particularly in the public sector and long-term security projects."
Legacy and innovations
Dallmeier's innovations include solutions that enrich security and operational processes for B2B clients
Founded in 1984 by Dieter Dallmeier in Regensburg, Germany, Dallmeier electronic has grown from a small operation in a garden shed to a key player in video information technology. With over 250 employees at its Regensburg headquarters and several hundred worldwide, the company continues to serve a global clientele.
Dallmeier's innovations include solutions that enrich security and operational processes for B2B clients across various sectors, including casinos, smart cities, airports, logistics, stadiums, and industry. Its expertise also extends to banks, critical infrastructure facilities, and medium-sized enterprises.
Technological leadership and manufacturing
From pioneering the world's first digital image storage system with motion analysis in 1992 to developing the patented "multifocal sensor technology" Panomera®, Dallmeier has consistently led technology advancements. Its latest, the Domera® camera range, features up to 300 variants with a mere 18 components, highlighting the brand's commitment to innovation.
Dallmeier prides itself on competitive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI), with a focus on maintaining high standards in data protection, cybersecurity, and ethical responsibility. From its central headquarters in Regensburg, Dallmeier conducts comprehensive research, development, and manufacturing, ensuring sustainability and environmental protection throughout its operations.
Dallmeier is expanding its software maintenance offering and now provides an additional maintenance package for cameras and recorders. This enables customers to keep their video security systems up to date for up to ten years while benefiting from long-term investment protection and planning reliability.
Long-term planning certainty is becoming increasingly important, especially for public sector organisations, operators of critical infrastructure, and companies with long investment cycles. With the new maintenance package, users can extend software maintenance by an additional five years, providing long-term protection against cybersecurity risks.
Software maintenance period
The new maintenance package is available for Panomera® systems, single-sensor cameras, and recorders. Cameras already include five years of software maintenance as standard, and the new package extends this period to a total of ten years. For recorders, software maintenance can likewise be extended to a total of up to ten years.
The maintenance package includes a license for updates, upgrades, and security updates for the camera or recorder software for an additional five years. It also includes a license for updates to the neural network used for object classification. Known relevant CVE security vulnerabilities will be addressed through appropriate security updates throughout the entire software maintenance period, subject to technical feasibility.
Video information technology
“With the option to plan software maintenance for up to ten years, we provide our customers with a high degree of investment protection and long-term planning certainty,” says Christian Linthaler, Chief Sales Officer at Dallmeier. “This is an important factor for the sustainable operation of modern video security systems, especially in the public sector and for long-term security projects.”
In 1984, Dieter Dallmeier founded what is now Dallmeier electronic – not in the proverbial garage, but in a garden shed in Regensburg, Germany. Today, the company, which can justifiably call itself a hidden champion for video information technology "Made in Germany", has several hundred employees worldwide, more than 250 of them at the company headquarters in the center of Regensburg alone.
Tangible customer benefits
Dallmeier's camera, recording, software, and analysis solutions optimise security and processes for B2B end customers in a wide range of industries in over 60 countries. The focus is on users from the casino, smart city, airports, logistics, stadiums, and industrial sectors. But also, banks, critical infrastructure facilities as well as medium-sized companies from all sectors.
With pioneering innovations, Dallmeier has succeeded time and again in placing itself at the forefront of technology: From the world's first digital image storage system with motion analysis in 1992, the patented "multifocal sensor technology" Panomera® with its "Mountera®" mounting system, to the latest Domera® camera family, which allows up to 300 camera variants with only 18 components. These and many other innovations provide real, tangible customer benefits.
Complete manufacturing process
And with a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and a high Return on Investment (ROI) they can easily compete with systems produced and supplied from low-wage countries.
With "Made in Germany", they also guarantee their customers the highest standards in data protection, cybersecurity, and ethical responsibility. With high quality and short supply chains, they also ensure – almost incidentally – sustainability and environmental protection. From their prestigious headquarters in the centre of Regensburg, Dallmeier not only carries out its own research and development but also the complete manufacturing process – from component to product to solution.
