Senior level Security Representatives will gather at the East Africa Energy Infrastructure Security 2015 Forum on 4-5 February to discuss the most pressing security concerns affecting the sector in Africa’s Eastern region. Cooperation with local communities, security of teams and assets, pipeline sabotage prevention, terrorism, maritime security and latest security technology, will be some of the topics covered at this Forum next week.

Amongst companies confirmed to attend are: VIVO Energy Africa, National Oil Corporation of Kenya, Maersk Oil Kenya, CNOOC Uganda, LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority, Afren, Tullow Oil, Petrobras, Chevron, ASIS Kenya, Institute of Security Studies of Kenya, BG Group, TransGen Energy, Warrior Security, Kenya Ports Authority, IGAD Nairobi, ABB, Control Risks, EUCAP NESTOR – Hargeisa/Nairobi, Windward and UNODC.

The Forum will begin on the first day with a keynote address from the Head of Security at VIVO Energy Africa on current and emerging security challenges facing the energy sector in the area. This will be followed by a presentation on how to utilise local content to enhance security in the region conducted by the National Content Manager from CNOOC Uganda Limited. This presentation will highlight the importance of the effective collaboration between divisions in the company as well as the importance of forming strong relationships between IOCs, NOCs, Government and International Law.
