Polish National Police to be provided with Suprema RealScan-F palm-print live scanner for its nationwide criminal AFIS operation
The RealScan-F live scanner has been qualified for the highest standard of FBI certification
Suprema, Inc., a global leader in biometrics and ID solutions, announced that the company's RealScan-F, palm-print live scanner has been selected for AFIS systems of Polish National Police and Lithuania's Citizenship & Migration Affairs.

Until end of 2010, Polish National Police (Komenda Glówna Policji) will be provided with Suprema RealScan-F palm-print live scanner for its nationwide criminal AFIS operation. This criminal AFIS for forensic investigation requires live scanners with stringent selection criteria on the image quality and recognition performance and the RealScan-F was selected through 12-month field testing with a number of other vendor's devices.

The RealScan-F live scanner has been qualified for the highest standard of FBI certification (IQS Appendix F), and captures single flat/roll, two finger flats, 4 finger slap, writer's edge and palm prints. The device performs incredible scanning rate of over 15 frames per second (in rolled fingerprint capture) which enables faster processing speed hence makes the device ideal for mass fingerprinting application such as nationwide AFIS operation. The RealScan-F is equipped with powerful DSP and run by highly-capable image-processing software featuring Suprema's advanced live-scan technology. The device also features colour LCD control panel, wide 5.2-inch platen and on-device operation keys.

Suprema also won Lithuanian Government's Citizenship and Migration Affairs project. Funded by European Union, the project replaces legacy AFIS equipments with RealScan-F live scanners in the nation's criminal AFIS. The Lithuanian Government has a plan to develop and integrate its newly implemented AFIS with the European Union's Schengen Visa Information System (VIS) project.

Suprema provides wide range of biometric ID management solution from FBI-certified live scanners to ARINC compliant electronic passport readers. In 2010, the company won number of public projects in China, USA, Brazil, Bulgaria and India.
