Synectics’ VEEcam captures evidential quality audio-video from body-worn recording devices
The new range of technologies will cater to policing, law enforcement and defence industries

Synectics, a subsidiary of Quadnetics Group, is using Security & Policing 2012 (31st Jan - 2nd Feb, stand A16) to showcase its range of solution driven technologies for the policing, law enforcement and defence industries.

Among the innovations on show is a ground-breaking product enhancement to VEEcam that captures evidential quality audio-video from body-worn recording devices and streams content over advanced next generation IP radio networks.

The V-IP streaming video product developed by Synectics sees its popular VEEcam rugged body-worn video recording system, used by clients including the MoD, Police and the BBC, enhanced with Ethernet connectivity. This enables footage recorded from the device to be streamed via the user's radio.

Andy Keene, Sales Manager at Synectics' defence division, believes the breakthrough has important implications. He explained: "The ability to stream high quality video across military or law enforcement radio networks, from such a small and rugged device opens up a wide range of possibilities. As well as ‘in the field' evidence gathering potential, the capacity for content to be streamed to, and viewed from, command centres which can then offer real time strategic input or training guidance is hugely significant."

In addition to the innovations on show at stand A16, visitors to the Team Falcon stand (E60) will also be able to view Synectics technology in action.

As members of the Team Falcon consortium, a group of leading British companies working in partnership to develop and integrate a range of technologies and capabilities for complex security systems, Synectics will be demonstrating the unique benefits of its Synergy security management software, integrated with Electrosonic Displaywall technology.

Azadar Shah, Managing Director of Synectics' networks division, said: "We're very proud to be part of the Team Falcon consortium so to have the opportunity to attend an event such as this and show how our software is helping the police and wider security sector as a whole is fantastic."

"Together with the products on display at stand A16, Synectics is really demonstrating its 360° approach to law enforcement and defence solutions, from developing the latest technology in data capture and streaming, through to state of the art monitoring and control."
