COMPRION is a manufacturer of standard test equipment for Smart Card interfaces
COMPRION develops, manufactures and markets test and measurement equipment for Smart Card vendors

COMPRION's SWP/HCI tests running on the conformance test platform ‘UT³ Platform' are the first SWP/HCI test cases that are validated by PTCRB-PVG. This makes the UT³ Platform the only conformance platform for SWP/HCI terminal testing.

PTCRB has issued a Request For Test (RFT 094) to verify SWP and HCI functionality in mobile handsets. Just in time for the Mobile World Congress, PTCRB made RFT 094 available for validation. RFT 094 covers test cases defined by ETSI TC SCP WG TEST in TS 102 694-1 (SWP) and TS 102 695-1 (HCI). Some SWP and HCI test cases defined by ETSI require capabilities for emulating contactless/NFC communication. With its contactless simulation abilities, the UT³ Platform is also prepared to work as a contactless test tool and will also cover test specifications created by the NFC Forum. The advantage of UT³ Platform is that it combines all necessary contact-based and contactless simulation modes in a single device. Thus, UT³ Platform is COMPRION's platform for NFC testing according to NFC Forum requirements and is listed as test platform TP 118 for SWP/HCI conformance testing according to GCF and PTCRB requirements.

With its approval at PTCRB-PVG#52, UT³ Platform is the first and only system running validated SWP/HCI conformance test cases according to RTF 094. GCF, another certification body, is also in the process of introducing SWP/HCI tests into their certification scheme. "Now that GCF CAG has selected SWP/HCI test cases to be included in Work Item 133, we will see validated test cases after the next GCF-CAG meeting in April this year," says Andreas Bertling, Chairman of ETSI TC SCP WG TEST and Product Manager at COMPRION.
