VIVOTEK, a leading vendor of surveillance cameras and other security solutions, has announced the release of its iViewer app for iPhone and iPad. iViewer was developed to allow users to monitor locations off-site by providing access to surveillance camera video right on their iOS device.

iViewer enables users to monitor live video from hundreds of cameras managed by centralised management software VAST or standard recording software ST7501-at any time, and from wherever they happen to be. This always-available access is not only a great convenience for administrators, but it enhances security by giving these administrators the flexibility to monitor trouble spots while off-site and detect suspicious activity in real time.

In addition to remote monitoring of live video, iViewer provides extremely flexible playback options, including the ability to view archived footage after initiating searches by date and time, configurable playback duration times, and variable-speed fast-forward and reverse playback.

iViewer also provides powerful management features, such as the ability to remotely control ePTZ/PTZ cameras' pan, tilt, and zoom. Users can even capture video frames for archival and later review.

Designed for ease of use, iViewer provides intuitive multi-touch gestures for performing actions like the aforementioned camera control or adding a new camera to a layout of live video channels, a Favorites list for instant access to frequently used video servers, and storage of preferred layouts.

"We are extremely pleased to offer our customers this terrific new app for remotely viewing surveillance video and managing their cameras," stated Owen Chen, VIVOTEK's Chairman. "It's all part of our commitment to use innovation to give users truly comprehensive surveillance solutions."
