ASIS Asia Pacific 2012 will be held at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong on 3-5 December 2012

ASIS International, the world’s premier association for security professionals, announced that Dr. Richard Weixing Hu, Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong will be a keynote speaker at the ASIS 6th Asia-Pacific Security Forum & Exhibition. He will speak about China and the Changing Security Environment in the Asia-Pacific. The event will be held at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong on 3-5 December 2012. 

Dr. Hu’s teaching and research interests focus on international politics, international political economy, East Asian international relations, China's foreign relations, and international security. Currently, he is working on research projects concerning Sino- US relations, China and East Asian regionalism, and transnational linkages across the Taiwan Strait.

He received his undergraduate degree in international politics from the Peking University, M.A. in international relations from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, and Ph.D. in political science from the University of Maryland in the U.S.A.

Dr. Hu was a recipient of the John M. Olin Fellowship from Harvard University in 1991, and an IGCC Postdoctoral Fellowship from the University of California, San Diego in 1992. He taught five years in the U.S.A. before joining the HKU staff in 1997.

The ASIS 6th Asia-Pacific Security Forum & Exhibition will cover a wide range of security issues in 24 high-level educational sessions delivered by industry leaders.
