i-PRO Co., Ltd., an entity known for its expertise in professional security, public safety, and medical applications, has announced a significant shift in its operations within the Japanese market.
The company has entered into an agreement with Panasonic Connect Co., Ltd. to assume control over the wholesale and marketing aspects for i-PRO products, roles currently managed by Panasonic Connect, by March 31, 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
Advanced security products development
i-PRO has been dedicated to the development and production of advanced security products
Since its separation from Panasonic in 2019 through a capital partnership with Polaris Capital Group Co., Ltd., i-PRO has been dedicated to the development and production of advanced security products.
While Panasonic Connect has been managing sales in Japan, i-PRO has been actively working on developing its own sales channels.
The upcoming takeover of wholesale and marketing functions aims to fortify i-PRO’s sales framework within Japan, allowing for an integrated approach in development, manufacturing, and sales operations within a unified organisational structure.
Operational integration and competitiveness
This operational integration is expected to enhance responsiveness to market demands, boost operational efficiency, and improve competitiveness in Japan. The strategy aligns with i-PRO’s globally implemented regionally integrated management model initiated in 2019.
The move is anticipated to facilitate collaboration across manufacturing, product development, and sales, enabling the company to swiftly incorporate market needs into its products.
Fostering synergies and customer engagement
i-PRO anticipates several synergetic help from this growth, including the rise of global solutions in Japan
i-PRO anticipates several synergetic benefits from this transition, including the promotion of global solutions in Japan through personnel exchanges with overseas offices, enhancing customer value, and reinforcing competitiveness via an efficient, integrated value chain.
Additionally, it aims to improve the quality of sales, proposals, and after-sales service, thereby increasing the speed of operations by streamlining business processes.
Direct dealer engagement
Effective April 1, 2026, around 500 dealers who currently acquire i-PRO products through Panasonic Connect will begin conducting business directly with i-PRO.
While contracts involving end-users who purchase through Panasonic Connect or the Electric Works Company (Panasonic Corporation) will remain as they are, i-PRO is committed to sustaining long-term customer relationships and delivering reliable, high-quality products and solutions to foster a safer and more secure society.
