DVTEL Inc., the video surveillance solutions provider, announced recently that DVTEL's Quasar line of IP cameras is now integrated with the Exacq Technologies exacqVision VMS. The two leading products’ ONVIF-based integration provides the customers of both companies more open system options and features.

Exacq customers can now take advantage of the advanced features of the DVTEL Quasar cameras and obtain the highest video quality paired with reduced bandwidth, dramatic storage savings and lowest cost of ownership. DVTEL's Quasar cameras are ONVIF-compliant, which enables them to be used with a wide range of other manufacturer’s systems. The Exacq software platform provides a high level of integration with Quasar, including support for live viewing, recording, discovery, outputs, motion-detection based events and more.

Available to the market as of 2012, DVTEL’s Quasar camera family is a comprehensive suite of HD, broadcast-?quality cameras, supported by DVTEL’s industry-?leading Latitude NVMS and Meridian mid-?market NVR solution. The Quasar line is the first to demonstrate the full benefits of motion compensation processing by leveraging the MPEG-recommended motion compensation processing standard to utilize higher H.264 compression profiles, resulting in lower bandwidth and less storage without dropping frame rates.

Quasar cameras are equipped with tamper detection, video motion detection, edge-?based smart search metadata and 3-?D digital noise reduction. The cameras, which can store up to seven days of captured video on the edge, are part of the DVTEL Snap. In Camera System with standardised housing and interchangeable electronics modules to allow for upgrades without the expense of new wiring.

End users can play live and recorded video, and seamlessly control Quasar cameras using the exacqVision VMS. Exacq’s open architecture video surveillance and recording solution is based on a client server architecture which provides the foundation for deploying single-site camera systems as well as large, scalable distributed corporate systems with thousands of cameras.

“This integration with leading VMS partners like Exacq will give our customers more flexibility and an even greater freedom of choice when it comes to designing their security surveillance solution,” said Paul Smith, Vice President of Marketing, DVTEL. “They'll now be able to select interoperable products from many different brands. The integration with Exacq will bring the benefits of high-?quality video with significant storage savings derived from the DVTEL Quasar line of cameras to more and more installations worldwide. We are excited that Exacq is the first video management software to closely integrate with the Quasar line, since it is such a popular, powerful and user-?friendly system.”

“This integration makes perfect sense for our partners and end customers, and will go a long way toward benefiting those who seek open, flexible systems,” said Roger D. Shuman, Sr. Marketing Manager, Exacq. “DVTEL's Quasar cameras are an ideal complement to Exacq's open-?architecture video surveillance and recording solution, and we’re pleased to be closely aligned.”
