ZeroEyes has announced that its artificial intelligence-driven gun detection and situational awareness software has been adopted by Goessel USD 411 in Kansas. Aiming to safeguard students, staff, and visitors from gun-related threats, this deployment will leverage ZeroEyes' capabilities to enhance security measures within the district's educational facilities.
Goessel USD 411, located in a small rural area, accommodates around 285 students and employs 75 faculty members across two campuses, including an elementary school and a combined junior-senior high school. The community, known for its supportive environment and active engagement with families and the school board, is integral to the district's focus on student safety and well-being.
Broader community initiatives
To facilitate this initiative, the district received funding from the Kansas Safe and Secure Firearm Detection Grant Program, handled by the Office of the Kansas Attorney General. The funding allowed the purchase and integration of the ZeroEyes system, following consultations with local law enforcement and community leaders, highlighting AI gun detection as a crucial safety measure aligning with community goals.
“I was very impressed by the system’s performance during our calibration process,” stated Scott Boden, Superintendent of Goessel USD 411. “The ability to accurately detect and identify a handgun from a distance exceeded our expectations and gave us added confidence in the technology’s role in helping keep our schools safe.”

Upon detecting a weapon, relevant images are instantly transmitted to the ZeroEyes Operations Center (ZOC), which is uniquely managed in-house within the U.S. by veterans from military and law enforcement sectors. If the threat is confirmed, pertinent alerts, including descriptive details and location, are promptly communicated to law enforcement and school officials to ensure swift action.

ZeroEyes complements these efforts by enabling earlier detection and expedited communication, thereby mitigating the challenges posed by geographical separation and limited local resources.
