Evolv Technologies Holdings, Inc., a company specialising in AI-driven security solutions, has announced the renewal and expansion of its agreement with the Houston Astros, a Major League Baseball team. The expanded partnership strengthens Evolv's presence in the Houston sports industry and enhances security measures at Daikin Park, the team's 41,000-seat stadium located in downtown Houston.
Under this renewed agreement, the Astros will upgrade their security infrastructure to the latest Evolv Express® Gen2 hardware. Evolv Express employs sophisticated sensor technology combined with artificial intelligence to identify concealed threats by detecting both the person and the threat's location, while allowing individuals to pass through checkpoints at their usual pace. The system aims to streamline visitor screening and reduce congestion, effectively managing traffic flow at entry points throughout the venue.

This agreement also introduces the Evolv eXpedite™ systems at Daikin Park, marking the first use of this AI-powered weapons detection solution for bags in a professional baseball stadium. The eXpedite systems are intended to complement the Express systems in scenarios where attendees carry multiple items, ensuring rigorous screening for venue staff who arrive with high-clutter bags.
Evolv's clientele in the professional baseball sector has reached twelve teams
Marcel Braithwaite, the Senior Vice President of Business Operations for the Astros, remarked on the longstanding partnership, saying, “Evolv has been a trusted supplier to the Astros since 2023, and we look forward to continuing our productive relationship into the future. Over the years, Express has helped us create a great guest arrival experience at hundreds of ballgames, concerts, and other events at Daikin Park. The upgrade to Gen2 hardware and the addition of eXpedite help us continue to deliver on our experience goals and standards for guests and staff alike.”
