SeeSense announced recently that it has further enhanced its range of miniature camera solutions. SeeSense MD Nigel Paine said, “Success and steady growth has enabled us to take the company forward again.  Our specialist technical and optical knowledge has already provided many of our customers with innovative and cost effective miniature camera solutions. We are known as official distributors of the excellent range of Toshiba miniature cameras but in fact SeeSense has always worked to provide new solutions and innovative ideas to customers.”

SeeSense can now offer a range of compact high definition High Speed camera for slo mo applications.  Although small and lightweight (only 63 x 63 x 68mm square and weighing less than 0.5kg) the IDT NX5 camera range is capable of attaining speeds and image quality comparable to larger camera systems.  The 5 megapixel 30 bit colour sensor is capable of 650 fps at a full resolution of 2560 x 1920 and can be windowed to 1920 x 1080 to work at over 1,000 fps.  Furthermore two of these cameras can be used as a compact stereoscopic assembly for 3D applications.

Another specialist imaging system from SeeSense is the compact low light EM-CCD ruggedised PAL camera from Raptor Photonics.  These small cameras are capable of high sensitivity imaging down to 500 μlux scene illumination with up to 1000x on-chip gain.  Raptor also offer a compact SWIR (Short Wave Infra Red) camera capable of imaging in the 0.9μm to 1.7μm wavelength and operating at a full frame rate of 25Hz, 60Hz or a high speed 346 Hz full frame.

SeeSense also offer an Infra Red optimised version of the Toshiba IK-HR1S camera system (the SeeSense IK-HR1IR) capable of providing truly excellent HD images optimised in the IR spectrum. This was specially created by SeeSense to enable natural history cameramen to capture HD footage of their subject in their native environment with minimal disturbance. (see accompanying photos)

SeeSense also distribute the Opgal range of thermal imaging cameras that includes a camera of 1024 x 768 pixels.  Other cameras include miniature covert camera systems that have already seen extensive use in investigative television programmes. These excellent quality cameras can be as small as a thumbnail.

With this new expansion SeeSense now offers a diverse range of small cameras that can cater for any Broadcaster’s specialist imaging requirements.
