Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is one of the oldest global independent safety science agencies established in 1894 with more than a century of expertise, and provides certification on the safety of products.
UL launched the first digital camera performance UL-2802 standard in 2013, defining a method to assess image quality of a video camera’s ratings through a series of performance-based tests. Network cameras are rated on the following parameters – image resolution, TV distortion, relative illumination, dynamic range, maximum frame rate, grey level, sensitivity, bad pixel, and veiling glare.
