Paul Winsker, Business Area Director – Mid Atlantic at Axis Communications, stated, “Our AECs are designed to provide local communities with the opportunity for hands-on experience with some of today’s most innovative and emerging technologies. With its blend of industrial heritage and modern resurgence, Detroit is the perfect location for our 20th AEC. Our goal isn’t just to meet the business and educational needs of our local customers and partners, but to also provide a welcoming space where ideas can be tested, partnerships strengthened, and solutions that solve real-world challenges developed together.”

Situated in the renowned One Campus Martius building, the 7,200-square-foot AEC delivers more than just technology showcases. Overlooking the Detroit River and Windsor, Canada, the facility's location across from Campus Martius Park fortifies its connection to the city.

Inside, the building features the tallest indoor waterfall in the U.S. at 114 feet. This impressive setting is designed for collaboration, focusing on solving complex challenges and aiding organisations in creating smarter, safer environments. Visitors can learn how Axis’ solutions, including network video, analytics, and access control, integrate to heighten safety, boost efficiency, and generate valuable business insights.

Enhancing Situational Awareness

The Detroit AEC includes specially designed areas to facilitate education, collaboration, and solution development, such as:

  • A cutting-edge Security Command Center, exemplifying how modern security operations utilise intelligent video, analytics, and connected devices for situational awareness and timely decision-making.
  • An Axis Communications Academy training room, dedicated to certification courses, partner training sessions, and educational events that equip integrators and end users with the knowledge to stay abreast of the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
  • An engineering and testing lab, where partners can assess integrations, validate system functionality, and experiment with new solutions ahead of deployment, fostering more confident, customised system designs.

Innovating with new technologies

Fredrik Nilsson, VP of Americas, Axis Communications, noted, “This opening represents more than just another AEC for Axis. It represents how far we have come as an organisation in the Americas. Fourteen years and 20 AECs later, we continue to find new ways to engage customers and partners while advancing innovation through new technologies and solutions. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and even more excited about what lies ahead.”

Axis Experience Centers now operate in almost 40 cities globally, including Boston, Mexico City, New York City, Houston, Madrid, and Lund. The Detroit AEC is located at 1000 Woodward Ave, Ste 1530, Detroit, MI, 48226.
