With an average of over 1,000 burglaries taking place every day in the UK, it is essential that all properties are correctly equipped with the most reliable and advanced intruder alarms.

There are a wide range of alarms available, but wireless intruder alarms offer one of the most effective ways in ensuring the security of a property.

Wireless Intruder Alarms

Wireless intruder alarms are one of the most efficient ways of securing a property. Due to the alarm acting as a deterrent, government statistics have shown that around 60% of burglaries attempted on properties fitted with an intruder alarm (wired or wireless) are unsuccessful.

They are paired with a control panel and communicate via radio signals rather than wired connection, providing a high level of security.

As the devices are also remotely monitored, one will be immediately notified if any unusual activity is detected, allowing to quickly login into an easy-to-use app and appropriately deal with the situation.

No cabling or wires

The alarms be paired with other security and safety peripherals much easier

As their name suggests, there is no cabling or wires to run through the house, allowing the system to be installed much quicker than wired intruder alarms.

Thanks to its innovative technology, they can be easily installed to new and existing buildings, causing minimal disruption and optimum security.

They can also be paired with other security and safety peripherals much easier than wired devices, offering a smart and modern security solution.

Working of Wireless Burglar Alarms

Wireless intruder alarms can operate in a number of ways, depending on what their purpose is. Passive infrared technology can be used to sense the increased body heat of an intruder and magnetic sensors can be attached to doors or windows to trigger an alarm when they are opened.

They can also be activated by the detection of low frequency sound waves which have been created by the pressure change caused from forced entry into a building.

Updating the settings of the alarms or running a walkthrough test can also be done quickly and easily. Wireless intruder alarms are paired with a control panel, which features a user-friendly menu that lists all the functions and programme available, ensuring the system is consistently operating correctly.

Powered by batteries

Wireless intruder alarms incorporate intelligent arming to recognise the user

As the wireless intruder alarms are powered by batteries, one will be required to replace them every other year or so. However, one need not have to worry about forgetting to change the batteries, as each wireless alarm monitors the life of its battery and informs the user before it expires.

Each alarm also has a feature whereby it conserves the battery’s power by ‘sleeping’ during periods when detection is not needed, ensuring that the battery won’t need replacing for a longer time.

Cutting-edge technology

Using cutting-edge technology, wireless intruder alarms also incorporate intelligent arming, which allows the control panel to recognise when the users and the people user lives with are present or absent and set the system accordingly.

For example, if one were to set the alarm while in the house and then walk out of the door, the system will register the action and automatically set the system and the intruder alarms to the ‘away’ mode.

Benefits

The alarms can be programmemed to connect with the two-way control panel

Due to the fact the alarms aren’t restricted by wires, wireless intruder alarms have much more freedom and flexibility. The sensors can be placed almost anywhere within a house and they can be easily removed or re-installed – ideal for scenarios when the user is redecorating or moving to a new house.

Similarly, the installation phase of the wireless alarms causes much less disruption than wired alarms would. There is no need to lift up floorboards or drill cable ports into the walls, as all of the security peripherals will be connected via radio signals.

Not only can they be programmemed to connect with the two-way control panel, but they can also be paired with motion detectors and external sounders, resulting in a bespoke security solution using the most advanced technology.

Trickier for burglars

As the alarms are powered by batteries rather than the mains electricity supply, they aren’t affected if a property has a power cut. With wireless intruder alarms, one can rest assured that the property will be kept safe at all times. It’s also much trickier for burglars to manipulate wireless alarms as there are no wires to cut to stop the alarm running.

Wireless intruder alarms have also been designed to include innovative anti-masking technology, ensuring motion detectors aren’t accidentally or intentionally obstructed.

Equally, the latest and most advanced technology has been used to avoid signal interference with baby monitors and other similar devices.
