The controlling shareholders of Samsung will sell their holding stakes to Hanwha Group An agreement has been signed which will see the controlling shareholders of Samsung Techwin, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T and other Samsung Group affiliates, sell their holding stakes in Samsung Techwin to Hanwha Group. “Hanwha Group’s investment in Samsung Techwin will enable us to continue research, design, and development of innovative market leading solutions that will create new business opportunities and ensure our future growth,” said Mr Jong Wan Lim, Managing Director of the Security Solution for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. “Customers can be assured that it is ‘business as usual’ and that there will be absolutely no disruption to the supply of products or to the normal high levels of pre and post sales support that customers have come to expect from Samsung Techwin.” The transaction is expected to be completed during the first half of 2015, subject to approval from antitrust regulatory authorities in relevant jurisdictions. Founded in 1952 Hanwha Group is a global leader in a broad range of businesses spanning the spectrum of manufacturing, construction, finance, services, and leisure industries. The Group’s 52 domestic and 90 overseas affiliates together provide a multitude of customers around the globe with premier products and services. In 2013, Hanwha Group achieved a total revenue of USD 35.13 billion, whilst its assets were valued at approximately USD117.4 billion.
Oleg will drive sales support strategies which reflect requirements of Samsung Techwin customers and partners Oleg V. Rubanenko has been appointed Regional Director for Russia and CIS for the Security Solution Division of Samsung Techwin. “Russia and CIS is one of our key sales target areas and the development of customised solutions for vertical markets such as Banking, Retail, Transport and City Surveillance is an important part of our strategic direction in the region” said Mr Jong Wan Lim, Managing Director of Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. “Oleg has been specially recruited to help us successfully implement this strategy.” Prior to joining Samsung Techwin, Oleg was Area Manager for Pelco by Schneider Electric in Russia and CIS. Working closely with Business Development and Account Management colleagues, he will be looking to capitalise on his excellent understanding of local market requirements, and with his engineering background and extensive experience of working on large video surveillance projects, Oleg will drive sales support strategies which reflect the requirements of Samsung Techwin customers and business partners in the region. Oleg joins Samsung Techwin when the popularity of its open platform WiseNetIII IP camera range which is ‘Changing the Face of IP’, is gaining momentum, and there is also considerable interest being shown in the recently introduced Beyond Series which harnesses the power of 1280H camera technology to enable analogue cameras and DVRs to deliver 1000TV lines. “I am excited to be joining Samsung Techwin at a time when the company has created a new structure in order to establish Russia and CIS as a regional sales ‘powerhouse’ by fully utilising the expertise of our sales and support services across the region," said Oleg. “This objective will be achieved with the assistance of the Samsung Techwin Eco Partnership (STEP) program through which we provide support, resources and tools to help our partners generate profitable new business opportunities with benefits such as Project Registration Discount, Lead Sharing, Co-Marketing, Academy, Marketing and Technical Tools support.”
Jorge will direct and provide leadership for Samsung’s fast growing business development team Jorge Gomez has been appointed Vice President of Business Development for Samsung Techwin for Europe, Russia and CIS. Jorge is a seasoned security industry professional whose expertise and extensive knowledge of video surveillance and integrated security solutions has been acquired during successful spells at some of the industry’s leading players, including Honeywell, Thales and General Electric. Based at Samsung Techwin’s European Headquarters in Chertsey, UK, Jorge will direct and provide leadership for the company’s fast growing business development team which is tasked with building relationships with key market influencers, including consultants, specifiers, installers and system integrators, in order to identify new sales opportunities for Samsung Techwin’s IP network based video surveillance solutions. “I am very excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the success of a company that has such a strong IP network product portfolio,” said Jorge. “Samsung Techwin’s latest generation of open platform WiseNetIII IP video surveillance cameras and ‘plug & play’ network recording devices are revolutionising the way installers, systems integrators and end-users work with IP.
