Veracity, a provider of innovative, intelligent solutions that solve real-world IP video challenges in transmission, storage and display, has completed its 12th year of continued growth. Continuing momentum includes over 30% increase in staff across a range of geographies, rapid expansion of a recent acquisition, new offices in the UK, India and the Middle East and new appointments to its leadership team as well as continuing, accelerated revenue growth. i-Comply acquisition In December Veracity acquired i-Comply Limited, a UK software provider of integrated command and control security solutions. Since then, Veracity has strengthened its operations including financial restructuring, the introduction of group processes and support procedures and further investment. The net effect is that i-Comply is profitable with a growing revenue stream and a continuously increasing opportunity pipeline. In 2017 i-Comply will double headcount as it prepares for expansion in the UK and international markets. New offices and hires Earlier this year, Veracity opened a new office in Dubai and appointed Dan England as its new General Manager for the Middle East and Africa region. Mr. England will work closely with regional distributors, and partners to promote Veracity solutions with major customers. Veracity also opened a new office in New Delhi, India which offers key access to customers and partners across the Asian markets. Based in North America with an international remit, Mr. Meltzer will work closely with architects, engineers and consultants to bring Veracity into the very earliest stages of major, mission critical projects. New channel partners To support this expansion and rising demand, Veracity has grown its staff levels by over 30% so far this year and is actively recruiting new channel partners across its international community of distributors and transacting partners. “The last 12 months has seen a major acceleration in our growth and our ongoing investment in business infrastructure and expertise, and this is a response to global demand for our innovative technology solutions,” says Alastair McLeod, Group CEO of Veracity, “We are finding particular interest from new markets such as the Gulf and India and export volumes to both of these regions have increased significantly with further growth expected over the next year.”
WiseNet SNO-6084R/ANP camera generates event notifications when an authorised vehicle number plate is recognised & these can be configured to trigger access control operations Hanwha Techwin Europe Ltd has launched a WiseNet Access camera solution which can be put to work straight out-of-the-box to provide total control of vehicle access. The WiseNet Access solution takes advantage of the long list of features incorporated in the open platform WiseNet SNO-6084R/ANP 2MP Full HD bullet camera which includes built-in IR LEDs, Defog and Digital Image Stabilisation (DIS). These features work together with the latest generation of Automatic Number Plate Recognition software, which is supplied preloaded onto the cameras to give users the ability to accurately log, monitor and control all vehicles entering a site 24/7, regardless of the lighting or environmental conditions. Easy to deploy, the Wisenet Access camera generates event notifications when an authorised vehicle number plate is recognised and these can be configured to trigger access control operations such as opening/closing a barrier, as well as sending activity reports and snapshots via email or FTP. Preloaded ANPR application “By preloading an ANPR Application which has been fully tested and evaluated onto Samsung branded cameras, we are looking to save installers, systems integrators and users, considerable time and effort in having to research the long list of available ANPR solutions,” said Dan England, Technology Partner Manager for Hanwha Techwin Europe Ltd. “Equally important, with the Arteco Application ready to run out-of-the box on the WiseNet SNO-6084R/ANP Access camera, installation time and cost is minimised and users can take immediate advantage of a seamless integrated solution.” Read more about WiseNet cameras here
Samsung Techwin Europe and Veracity have jointly launched TRINITY™, an IP network video surveillance solution that does not require a network video recorder. Simultaneously runs multiple onboard edge based applications TRINITY takes advantage of the processing power of Samsung WiseNetIII open platform cameras which enables them to simultaneously run multiple onboard edge based Applications, including Veracity’s award winning COLDSTORE ‘direct-to-storage’ recording solution. Users are able to take advantage of a robust and scalable system which does not require a server or network recording device and yet supports audio and metadata as well as video, whilst offering innovative features such as camera-level fail-over and resilience to network interruptions. As a result, large savings can be achieved on software licences and NVR hardware costs normally incurred when an IP network based recording system is required. With a COLDSTORE array of up to 120TB consuming just 60 watts, there is also a potential 90% power saving compared to standard server based storage solutions. For large video surveillance projects, this provides users with the opportunity to apply for EU funded environmental grants. “In simple terms, WiseNetIII cameras are now able to write directly to disk,” said Alastair McLeod, Veracity’s Group CEO. “The TRINITY architecture empowers the Samsung WiseNetIII cameras to record directly to COLDSTORE, whilst providing users with the option to retrieve and view the recorded images via our TRINITY Player utility or, more significantly, by any third-party PSIM or VMS (Video Management System) client application that incorporates our easy to implement media SDK.” COLDSTORE hard disk storage COLDSTORE hard disk storage arrays are increasingly being specified for large scale surveillance installations or for projects with long video retention time requirements. This is because of their high storage capacity and low power consumption as well as COLDSTORE’s key feature, i.e. it has been designed from the ground up to significantly increase disk reliability. The recent release of COLDSTORE Compact means that TRINITY is also now suitable for systems with lower camera counts. “Our technicians have worked very closely with the Veracity team to ensure users can achieve the maximum benefit from TRINITY,” said Dan England, Technology Partner Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe. “Being able to record and store metadata directly to COLDSTORE is particularly important as customers are increasingly specifying applications to run on WiseNetIII cameras that can be used to collect and analyse data via different specialist video analytics solutions. “This offers operation managers the potential to acquire valuable management information which could assist them in improving efficiency in areas such as process control, health & safety, marketing and human resource management, as well as enhancing the ability of security personnel to react quickly and effectively to any security threat.”
Dan will be working closely with Samsung Techwin’s Applications Partners and VMS developers Dan England has been appointed Technology Partner Manager for the Security Solution division of Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. Dan will be working closely with Samsung Techwin’s Applications Partners and VMS developers to raise awareness of how Open Platform technology can provide users with significant added value from their video surveillance systems. “As someone who has spent the last 16 years working for consultancies and companies involved in the design and installation of integrated solutions, I am very excited to have the opportunity to drive Samsung Techwin’s Technology Partner program,” said Dan. “The massive processing power of the DSP chipsets incorporated into latest generation of Samsung Techwin WiseNetIII high definition cameras has resulted in significant new business opportunities being generated for both the IT and security sales channels. I am therefore looking forward to playing a part in implementing a strategy which encourages a wide range of third party software developers to take advantage of our Open Platform technology.” Bespoke video surveillance solutions The latest generation of Samsung Techwin WiseNetIII Open Platform cameras can claim to elevate video surveillance from being just a security system, to a smart solution that can deliver so much more. Whilst most Open Platform cameras which are currently available can only run one Application, the processing power of Samsung Techwin’s WiseNetIII Platform DSP chipset provides customers with the option to run multiple Applications at the same time. Having the ability to utilise on-board Applications creates opportunities for cameras to be used for multi-tasking, with various departments within a business or organisation able to simultaneously collect and analyse valuable management information via different specialist video analytics Applications.
