The announcement that Wavestore’s open platform Video Management Software (VMS) has been successfully integrated with Raytec’s lighting solutions means that operators are now able to match the security requirements for individual locations throughout a site, with a wide range of lighting options which are managed directly from Wavestore’s front-end ‘one screen, total control’ display. Automated lighting solution Raytec and Wavestore’s technical teams have worked closely together to develop an intelligent lighting solution which can be controlled via Wavestore’s VM Raytec and Wavestore’s technical teams have worked closely together to develop an intelligent lighting solution which can be controlled via Wavestore’s VMS by simply clicking on fully customisable buttons. The solution also enables the ideal lighting for each situation to be automatically selected when a moving object is detected or by metadata triggered events from other systems and software, such as access control, ANPR, alarm sensors, cameras, face recognition and other forms of video analytics. “There are so many different reasons why our end-user clients may need supplementary lighting and this smart solution provides them with the flexibility to choose from a long list of options which exactly meets their requirements,” said Enrico Bizzaro, Head of Integrations for Wavestore. Licence plate reader and video surveillance system “Our clients tell us that minimising energy costs and light pollution is important to them and so this integrated solution has been designed to ensure lights are only turned on when needed. This could be, for example, at an access control reader location in order to visually verify the identity of a card holder or to enhance the ability to read the number plate of a vehicle entering a site. Lighting is also quite often used to add to the deterrent factor of a video surveillance system and in this respect, operators can choose different options such as SOS, Hi-Lo and Wave light effects.” The benefits offered by the deep level of integration between the two technologies are available as standard across Wavestore Premium, Enterprise and Ultimate channel license levels. Wavestore VMS supports Hybrid LED illuminators Wavestore was the first VMS to support Raytec’s Hybrid LED illuminators which brings the benefits of White light and IR technology into a single unit. With less cabling required, the 2-in-1 solution reduces installation costs as well as negating the capital cost of deploying two separate lighting units. Wavestore enables the Hybrid LED illuminators to be controlled individually or as a group with all commands, such as scheduled on/off timings and brightness, securely authenticated by Wavestore to prevent unauthorised access to the illuminators over the network.
A technology partnership formed between SALTO and Wavestore is enabling operators to instantly visually verify the identity of anyone attempting to gain access to a site or sensitive areas of a building. The successful integration of the two companies’ software platforms means users of SALTO Access Control are now able to view event-driven video captured by cameras connected to the Linux based and open platform Wavestore Video Management Software (VMS). “Interaction between access control and video surveillance systems has been possible for some time,” said Enrico Bizzaro, Head of Integrations for Wavestore. “However, with the Wavestore VMS able to quickly process large amounts of metadata, we are now able to provide operators with a powerful tool to instantly display detailed information on who, when and where staff and visitors have entered or moved around a building.” SALTO & Wavestore enable operators to visually verify in real-time all access control activity Real-time all access control The integration between SALTO and Wavestore enable operators to visually verify in real-time all access control activity via the Wavestore Graphical User Interface (GUI). A virtual spot monitor can be set up to display video captured by cameras associated with the door where an event is occurring. Colour coded text is generated to enable operators to more quickly identify the type of event, e.g. green for access granted and red when access is denied, whilst the operator also has instant access to data such as the name, job title, ID number and image of the person attempting to gain access. Operators are alerted if a door is forced open. They are able to immediately see who is trying to break in and where the door is located on a map of the building. Data recording & Forensic searches Wavestore’s rules engine enables metadata pushed by the SALTO server to be configured to generate various actions when someone presents their access token to the reader, such as trigger a PTZ camera pre-set or a recorded audio message on an integrated speaker. There is a long list of ways in which the recorded metadata can be filtered to allow operators to rapidly search for specific events There is a long list of ways in which the recorded metadata can be filtered to allow operators to rapidly search for specific events. These include by time, door and camera location, first name, surname and ID number of a person or any other database credentials. Seamless security personnel solutions The combined SALTO and Wavestore solution offers security personnel with a range of other benefits, including: One screen, total control: Just one operator screen is needed to seamlessly manage events captured by analogue, high definition or 360° cameras and the access control system, as well as other integrated third-party technologies. Instant retrieval and transmission of video clips of events using Wavestore’s ‘just 3-clicks’ evidential export function. Wavestore and analytics experts Facit Data Systems have formed a technology partnership to help organisations comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when managing their surveillance system. The GDPR regulation stipulates any person whose image is recorded on a video surveillance system has a right to seek and be supplied with a copy of their own personal data from the footage. However, the identity of any other individuals who also feature in any part of that footage need to be protected when the recording is shared with a third party. Identity Cloak The technology partnership will see Facit working closely together with Wavestore to promote Facit’s proprietary video redaction software, Identity Cloak, alongside Wavestore’s Video Management Software (VMS).Identity Cloak complements the privacy features of our VMS and will ensure our clients are able to achieve maximum benefit from their video surveillance systems" Identity Cloak transforms high-risk data to the low-risk category, allowing operators to see what is happening in exported video footage without violating anyone’s privacy. It does so by blurring out the faces of people captured on video in a dynamic way, allowing persons of interest to be selected and made visible whilst everybody else remains blurred throughout the entire video clip. Relevant video can be effortlessly exported from Wavestore into Identity Cloak and a full GDPR compliant video clip made available in a fraction of the time it takes using other methods. “Our VMS is extremely user-friendly in terms of helping clients comply with GDPR,” said Enrico Bizzaro, Head of Integrations for Wavestore. “Identity Cloak complements the privacy features of our VMS and will ensure our clients are able to achieve maximum benefit from their video surveillance systems, without being in danger of breaching the new regulation.” Wavestore’s GDPR-friendly features Facit Data Systems Managing Director, Waqas Hassan says he is pleased to align the company’s new Identity Cloak software with the Wavestore Technology Partnership programme. “We believe the combination of Identity Cloak and the Wavestore VMS will allow a significant reduction in risk and exposure to the requirements of all organisations utilising video in their environment for their GDPR compliance. Having now a full redaction function to complement the existing Wavestore VMS features will be extremely helpful.” In addition to lightning-fast incident search and GDPR compliant export with Facit, Wavestore’s VMS has a host of other features which help organisations comply with GDPR in the day-to-day administration of their systems. These include: The ability to set hard limits on video storage duration so not to retain video longer than intended User privilege separation, including user-privilege enabled privacy zones The option to ‘lock’ recordings to prevent overwriting whilst investigations are taking place Security hardening as standard including enforceable password policies No ‘back door’ access into the system

Wavestore’s open platform VMS has been successfully integrated with Honeywell’s Galaxy Dimension intrusion detection panels “Wavestore’s integration with Honeywell Galaxy Dimension allows Security Industry Association (SIA) Level 4 compliant events to be received by Wavestore’s VMS in order to deliver a truly unified security solution that combines powerful video, data and audio management with leading intrusion detection capability,” said Enrico Bizzaro, Head of Integrations at Wavestore. Wavestore is directly integrated with Galaxy Dimension panels over the network and data is pushed from the panel into Wavestore’s VMS whenever an event occurs, allowing operators to set specific actions relating to specific events, including moving PTZ cameras, opening doors, sending e-mail or alerting security staff, to name but a few. Operators are also able to conduct post-event searches on specific event keywords, such as ‘zone’ and ‘type’, and instantly display video relating to those events. Wavestore VMS camera integrations Wavestore’s ‘any video, any format’ philosophy sees its VMS support all leading camera vendors across multiple camera technologies. These include very high megapixel, UHD, 4K, HD, 360° fisheye, thermal and analogue cameras operating on H.264, MJPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MxPEG and JPEG200 video formats. Wavestore can also integrate a host of other devices and sensors into its VMS, allowing operators to simultaneously view, control and manage live video, recorded footage and integrated devices, all from one screen and all at the same time, to create a fully scalable and powerful total security solution. “Users looking to include intrusion detection into their video surveillance solution now have an extremely straight-forward but powerful and flexible solution” says Enrico. “What’s more, other systems, such as Access Control and Video Analytics from leading third-party brands, can also be incorporated in order to create fully integrated, future-proof and best-in-breed solutions”.
The integration of Paxton Net2 with Wavestore's VMS ensures that operators can instantly view video to visually verify access control events “In simple terms, the integration of Paxton Net2 with our VMS ensures that operators can instantly view live or recorded video to visually verify access control events,” said Enrico Bizzaro, Head of Integrations at Wavestore. “However, our respective engineering teams have worked closely together to achieve a level of functionality that delivers what we believe is the best-in-breed solution for video, data and access control management.”Net2 is a PC based access control solution which offers centralised administration and control of sites from single to hundreds of doors and with up to 50,000 users. It can be easily customised to set up access privileges to groups or individuals, whilst event reports can be generated with just a few clicks.Deep Integration “With an increasing number of access control and video surveillance systems being specified for the same projects, end-users are understandably looking for a high level of interaction between the two technologies in order to provide a complete solution,” said Enrico Bizzaro. “With this in mind, we are able to offer, in partnership with Paxton, a solution that provides two-way communication between the respective systems. This enables, for example, doors to be locked and unlocked remotely via Wavestore’s WaveView client application for seamless operation.”Wavestore’s ‘any video, any format’ philosophy sees its VMS support all leading camera vendors across multiple camera technologies. These include very high megapixel, UHD, 4K, HD, 360° fisheye, thermal and analogue cameras operating on H.264, MJPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MxPEG and JPEG200 video formats. Wavestore can also integrate a host of other devices and sensors into its VMS, allowing operators to simultaneously view, control and manage live video, recorded footage and integrated devices, all from one screen and all at the same time, to create a fully scalable and powerful total security solution.Real-time verificationOther key features of the integration include the ability to easily search for access control events from any keyword, such as person’s first name, surname or any other database credentials and instantly bring up video and backup using Wavestore’s 3-click evidential export function from associated cameras. There is also the ability to view video of events in real time, such as ‘access denied’ and, thanks to the Wavestore rules engine, users can configure any number of customised actions in response to trigger events, such as when a person of interest presents a token to a specific door reader.
