VITEC has introduced an integrated video mission commander solution tailored for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) to address the evolving needs of modern military operations.
This new solution seamlessly combines VITEC's ultra-low latency encoding hardware with the EZ TV video distribution platform, ensuring secure and interoperable real-time video delivery across mobile, airborne, and command environments.
Mission-critical information
In today’s complex operational settings, the main hurdle is transforming various sensor feeds into timely and clear situational awareness, rather than simply accessing the data. VITEC's solution enables secure, ultra-low-latency video distribution throughout the mission chain, allowing commanders to make rapid, well-informed decisions.
"In today’s complex operational environments, the challenge is no longer access to data, it is the ability to transform multiple sensor feeds into clear, real-time situational awareness. By enabling secure, ultra-low-latency video distribution across the entire mission chain, VITEC empowers commanders to make faster, more informed decisions when it matters most," stated Ghassan Dadokh, Regional Head of Defence & Security Senior Business Development Manager at VITEC.
VITEC's approach is designed to overcome issues related to siloed systems, inconsistent formats, and latency
Modern military units utilise an expanding array of sensors such as drones, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), fixed cameras, and mobile platforms. These systems generate substantial volumes of ISR video which can be challenging to manage efficiently. VITEC's approach is designed to overcome issues related to siloed systems, inconsistent formats, and latency. The solution offers defence organisations improved interoperability, scalability, and secure distribution of live and mission-relevant video throughout all command tiers.
Highly dynamic environments
The mission commander solution integrates VITEC encoders into forward-deployed assets like vehicles, UGVs, and portable ground stations, enabling HD and 4K sensor feeds to be streamed over RF, LTE, or Satcom links into the command and control network. The EZ TV platform allows operators at all levels, including field personnel equipped with rugged tablets, to access live, archived, and on-demand video through a unified interface, thereby enhancing the operational picture even in bandwidth-restrained or highly dynamic situations.
The system supports standard streaming protocols, MISB and KLV metadata, and AES 256 encryption, ensuring compatibility with existing C2 and ISR structures while facilitating secure dissemination across single-site, multi-site, and coalition deployments. Through hardware-based processing, bandwidth-efficient codecs, and centralized management, the solution reduces operator workload, enhances responsiveness, and maintains consistent access to critical video sources.
