Comelit-PAC has introduced a new series of linear beam smoke detectors that aim to streamline the protection of extensive, open areas.
These detectors are crafted to facilitate easier commissioning and are compatible with both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems. Ideal for environments such as warehouses, atriums, industrial sites, and sports halls, these detectors utilise reflective infrared beam technology to detect smoke across distances up to 120 metres.
Versatile fire system integration
The product line includes four distinct models, each designed for varying applications, ranging from distances of 5 to 60 metres and expansive areas spanning 50 to 120 metres. Compatible with Comelit-PAC's Logifire addressable panels and traditional fire systems, these detectors are crafted to suit a wide array of settings.
Mandy Bowden, Fire Systems Business Manager UK & ROI at Comelit-PAC, stated, "As warehouses become larger, industrial facilities more complex and public spaces increasingly multi-purpose, there's growing demand for technologies to deliver reliable coverage without adding unnecessary complexity. Our new beam detectors are giving customers access to a broader range of solutions from a single trusted partner, making it easier to specify and support the right system for every application."
Effortless installation and maintenance
The detectors are equipped to automatically adjust for environmental changes like dust accumulation
Certified in accordance with EN54-12, with addressable models additionally certified under EN54-17 for short-circuit isolation, the detectors are engineered to support straightforward installation and dependable performance. Features such as smart alignment technology automatically refine the signal during setup, minimizing the need for fine-tuning. An inbuilt laser pointer aids in the setup process.
The detectors are equipped to automatically adjust for environmental changes like dust accumulation, minor building shift, and temperature variations, ensuring consistent sensitivity and reducing false alarms. Alerts are generated when maintenance such as cleaning is needed.
Enhanced functionality for addressable models
Addressable models provide advanced functionality through the control panel, including options for programming, real-time alignment feedback, and dual day/night sensitivity settings. They can be powered from the loop or an external power source, designed with minimal current consumption in mind.
Mandy further commented, "Every site varies considerably in scale and complexity, which means fire detection technologies need to respond to very different operational demands. The focus of this launch is to present solutions to maintain consistent performance despite changing environmental conditions over time. Long-term reliability and suitability for the environment are now just as important as meeting the initial design requirements."
Adaptable and durable
The entire range is IP65 rated, suitable for functioning in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +60°C.
These detectors also offer remote indicator connections, with conventional models being able to integrate with third-party systems, providing a robust solution for diverse operational needs.
