In a move set to enhance the capabilities of residential security solutions, ADT, Origin AI, and Verisure have jointly announced a five-year renewable agreement.
Under the terms of this deal, Verisure will continue to license Origin AI's proprietary artificial intelligence sensing technology. This agreement comes after ADT's acquisition of Origin AI, and it reinforces the collaboration between two prominent residential security providers, ADT and Verisure.
AI sensing platform
Verisure has integrated Origin AI’s technology into its services for the past five years, contributing to the development and market growth of AI applications for residential security. The new agreement extends Verisure's capabilities to utilise the AI sensing platform across its customer base in Europe and Latin America.
The arrangement includes long-term access to certain AI sensing applications, notably in age-technology solutions, with provisions allowing Verisure to secure rights to these innovations beyond the current agreement. Notable aspects of the deal include exclusive rights for professionally monitored security within specified regions, collaborative development efforts, and data sharing to improve AI model performance. The partnership is valued at $30 million over the duration of five years for development services, alongside a per-household activation fee akin to Verisure's prior agreement with Origin AI.
Enhanced alarm verification
Origin AI's technology enhances detection and verification capabilities by identifying human presence
Origin AI's technology enhances detection and verification capabilities by identifying human presence and monitoring contextual activity inside homes without the use of cameras. This advancement supports better alarm verification processes, reduces false alarms, and broadens the range of applications, particularly in smart aging and occupancy intelligence.
Omar Khan, Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer of ADT, remarked, “This five-year commercial agreement reflects the value and global scalability of our AI sensing platform. Partnering with Verisure allows us to accelerate the deployment of AI-driven protection across millions of professionally monitored homes.”
Cristina Rivas, Verisure’s Chief Technology Officer, added, “This agreement reflects our ongoing conviction in the value of AI sensing technology to provide peace of mind to our customers. While we remain a vertically integrated technology company at our core, our collaboration with Origin AI is an external partnership that delivers clear strategic and financial advantages — strengthening our platform while preserving control, long-term continuity, and defined exclusivity across our markets.”
