Panasonic System Communications Company Europe (PSCEU) is pleased to announce the latest range of i-Pro Smart HD rugged network dome cameras from Panasonic, the WV-SW598; built to deliver seamless continuity of full HD images and an abundance of intelligent features in temperatures ranging from -50°C to +55°C.

The series offers full ratification from ONVIF, the specification that defines a common protocol for network video devices and features large zoom, advanced track and trace and alarm features as well IP66 rated resistance to guarantee seamless continuity of full HD images, even in the most extreme environments. Along with further enhanced features, these capabilities ensure logistics and haulage companies receive some of the most advanced features and best return on investment available in the security technology market.

With a massive optical zoom range of 30x as standard, plus a 12x digital zoom capability it is possible to achieve up to 1080x zoom in VGA resolution. Combined with Face Super Dynamic technology for clearer facial images and increased chances of identification and high sensitivity functionality with 0.5lux sensitivity in colour mode and 0.06lux in mono at F-stop 1.6 aperture providing true 24 hour day/night performance, the WV-SW598 ensures the clearest and truest images are reproduced.

Up to 1,920 x 1,080 HD resolution images are delivered across the network through multiple H.264 and JPEG encoded streams for simultaneous real time monitoring and HD recording which is powered by UniPhier, the proprietary Panasonic system LSI platform. At 1080p full-HD resolution, progressive scan images are produced at no less than 30 frames per second, enabling security professionals at logistics and hauling companies to see every detail and movement necessary to provide the best possible surveillance recording and monitoring for enhanced delivery of total security management.

Panasonic MEGA SuperDynamic Range and ABS (Adaptive Black Stretch) technology enables the WV-SW598 to deliver 128x wider dynamic range compared with conventional surveillance cameras. In conjunction with an advanced track and trace feature which uses an electronic handshake between cameras to trigger alarms in up to 8 cameras within a sequence, the WV-SW598 promises to capture clear images even whilst a suspect or item is moving between camera coverage zones. This is particularly important for use in the monitoring of shipments and detection of missing or foreign objects.

Additionally, 360° endless panning and PTZ control is both smooth and progressive with 16 speeds of pan/tilt and new “Drag and Zoom” operation enabling finer control. Up to 256 control speeds are available when used with the WV-CU950 Ethernet system controller and with Advanced Auto Tracking the camera will automatically pans and tilt to follow a moving subject keeping it within the centre of the image.

The new coating on the WV-SW598 enables seamless continuity of fullHD images in even the most hostile of environments by preventing raindrops from sticking to the cover for clearer images. Furthermore, with Ingress Protection Rating certified at IP66, the new resistance against the elements is taken to the next level; guaranteeing total dust tightness, with no ingress of dust possible, as well as total protection against any harmful effect on the camera’s enclosure caused by even the most powerful jets of water blasted at it from any direction.

The latest in the Panasonic i-Pro SmartHD range comes fully supplied with all accessories including alarm cable, connector kit and front and rear sunshields. With the WV-Q122A bracket readily available for installers seeking to wall mount the device, every detail has been taken into account and it’s clear that as the latest Panasonic intelligent i-Pro SmartHD WV-SW598 will be specified by the smartest of installers seeking to deliver the very best outdoor surveillance available.
