Axis Communications have released the Axis 206 network camera in two unique variations - the smallest ever megapixel network camera and smallest ever wireless network camera.

Aimed at entry-level users who will benefit from both wireless and improved resolution, particular applications include the retail and educational sectors.

Key features include: CMOS based progressive scan sensor comparable to CCD for superior image quality capture, especially in low light conditions, and motion JPEG compression to ensure high quality transmission.
Megapixel (Axis 206M) - maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 supporting HDTV 16:9 format and up to 12 Fps.
Wireless (Axis 206W) - first wireless WiFi (802.116) network camera from Axis offering 640 x 480 resolution and up to 30 Fps.

Additional info	The AXIS206 is network camera for indoor use with an ability to provide high quality video at full frame rate using Motion-JPEG. Three different resolutions (up to 640x480) and 4 different compression levels. The built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b wireless connection also gives the freedom to place the camera where it's needed and not where the network outlet is. Axis 206 is a cost-effective solution for securing and remotely monitoring offices, shops and other facilities over the local area network or the Internet.
