Video analytics are changing the physical security industry by making video surveillance proactive

VideoIQ, the leader in video surveillance innovation, announced that Gary Pfeiffer, Vice President of worldwide sales co-presented a session with Neil Smith, Group Managing Director, Clear Image Group at the international security conference, IFSEC. Titled "Why Video Analytics Will Change the Security Industry," the session took place at 11:15 a.m. on May 11, 2010 at the NEC in Birmingham, UK.

Attendees to the session learnt how video analytics are changing the physical security industry by making video surveillance proactive, automatically triggering real-time alerts when threats are detected, and by enabling intelligent forensic search and investigation.  Pfeiffer discussed the significant return on investment from video analytics, including guard augmentation and remote monitoring.  Finally, he took an in-depth look at real-world companies of all sizes that are using video analytics to cost effectively enhance security.

Session topics included:

• Proactive surveillance - How real-time threat detection allows organizations to more rapidly address incidents before crime occurs, reducing loss while increasing guard effectiveness.
