Johnson Controls and Tyco will function independently up till the close of merger around Oct. 1, 2016 Johnson Controls and Tyco International has announced the senior executive team that will lead the combined company following the close of their planned merger, which is expected on or around Oct. 1, 2016. New roles As previously announced, at the effective time of the merger, Johnson Controls Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alex Molinaroli will be appointed to the same role for the combined company. Tyco Chief Executive Officer George Oliver will serve as President and Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for the operating businesses and leading the integration, and will become a director on the new company's board. Mr. Molinaroli will serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for 18 months after the closing. At that time, Mr. Oliver will become Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Molinaroli will become Executive Chair for one year, after which Mr. Oliver will become Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The council bases its awards upon a nominee’s exhibited leadership in the security industry Tyco Security Products, part of Tyco, the world’s largest pure-play fire protection and security company, announced recently that Irene Lam, Vice President of R&D and Engineering for Tyco Security Products, has been recognised as a winner of the 2015 Women of the Year award by the Women’s Security Council, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring the professional success of women working in the physical security industry. Lam was recognised with the award at a special reception held April 14, in conjunction with ISC West, Las Vegas, Nevada. About Irene Lam The council bases its awards upon a nominee’s exhibited leadership in the security industry and within an organisation, in addition to contributions made to business and local communities. As Vice President of R&D and Engineering for Tyco Security Products, Lam leads a 500-person department responsible for the full life-cycle of product development across the company’s portfolio of access control, video surveillance, intrusion and location-based technology. She also oversees eight development centers located across the globe.
