Visitor identity verification with the Civic App will initially be deployed in three New York locations, with an expected volume of over 20,000 visitors per month. Manage sensitive data The Civic integration provides data privacy with the benefits of blockchain-powered security Visitors typically have to sign in with the receptionist and provide information, usually a physical ID and contact information, to check in for their visit and receive temporary access to the building. By integrating Civic for authentication and Know Your Customer, when visitors walk into a building, they will be able to scan a QR code on the C-CURE 9000 check-in kiosk with their Civic App without needing to dig out a physical ID or enter personal information into a form. Integrating the Civic App provides benefits beyond a simplified visitor management process. For visitors, the Civic integration provides data privacy with the benefits of blockchain-powered security. Using the Civic Secure ID platform, user information is always stored locally on a user’s mobile device and is protected by biometrics. This also means that properties secured by C-CURE 9000 are able to securely verify the identity of users without any requirements to store or manage sensitive personal data that attracts hackers. Tyco Security Products introduces the latest version of its C•CURE 9000 security and event management platform, which includes Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSPD) support for reader-to-panel communications, increased system capacity licensing and enhanced visitor management functionality that allows personnel to easily create and manage scheduled visitor appointments. Enhanced visitor management capabilities The enhanced Visitor Management capabilities of C•CURE 9000 allows authorised personnel to create and manage scheduled visitor appointments from their desktop or mobile device browser using C•CURE 9000’s Visitor Management Web portal. Personnel who are hosting visitors are able to create appointments in advance, define visit instructions, attach visit policy documents and assign pre-authorised clearances for temporary access to expedite the visitor check-in process at the front desk. When visitors arrive, security staff can easily locate visitor appointments from C•CURE 9000 administration workstations, quickly assign temporary credentials if needed and manage the visitor check-in/check-out process based on the appointment information provided via the portal by the hosting personnel. Open Supervised Device Protocol support C•CURE 9000 v2.50 provides Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSPD) support for reader-to-panel communications on all iSTAR Ultra series controllers. In addition, C•CURE 9000 can now be licensed up to 5,000 readers per single application server, doubling the previously supported access controlled door capacity. The increased capacity not only provides greater scalability for single server systems, but Enterprise scalability has also been increased to support up to 40 satellite application servers. Also supported in this release are Enterprise multi-version software upgrades allowing Enterprise deployments to remain operational while progressively upgrading each server node over time. Customers can now rollout Enterprise system software upgrades without time constraints or need to plan for an extended system outage. “The C•CURE 9000 Visitor Management Web portal improves efficiency by reducing the centralised administrative burden of visitor management that typically falls on security staff – to effectively move the pre-visit data entry process into the hands of the responsible hosts through mobile self-service,” said George Martinez, Senior Product Manager, Tyco Security Products. “The portal also facilitates better host accountability by providing an official record of visits and authorisations.” Conditional access & dynamic area manager capabilities C•CURE 9000 also includes Conditional Access and Dynamic Area Manager capabilities for areas needing a higher level of security relative to supervised occupancy, such as cash counting rooms in financial institutions, government facilities that contain sensitive information and laboratories that test controlled substances. Conditional Access allows cardholders inside a secured area to grant conditional access to personnel requesting entry, who normally lack the necessary clearance to enter the area on their own. C•CURE’s Dynamic Area Manager ensures the first qualified person to enter an unoccupied area becomes responsible for the area and is the last person to leave, providing greater security control and supervision of high risk areas. Supports iSTAR Ultra SE controller In addition, C•CURE 9000 supports the new Tyco Security Products iSTAR Ultra SE controller from Software House, a special edition iSTAR Ultra controller that ensures flexibility and compatibility with all Software House systems.
Tyco Security Products announced recently the release of CEM Systems AC2000 v.7.1, with a series of performance-enhancing additions to this access control and security management software suite, including an improved Application Programming Interface (API) for easier third-party integrations, new room booking solution, multi-card support capabilities, and additional integrations. “This latest version of the AC2000 software suite, including the AC2000 Airport and AC2000 Lite editions, reflects CEM Systems continued commitment to delivering superior performance and capability that meet day-to-day customer needs,” said George Martinez, Product Manager, Tyco Security Products. “Whether it’s needing to integrate a third-party product or booking a meeting room, AC2000 is focused on blending the highest level of security with practical business application.” Bi-directional communication AC2000 offers an updated API that allows for full bi-directional communication, making it possible to send and receive information from the access control system to other platforms, such as a physical security management system (PSIM). And the enhanced API also better supports third-party integrations from selected systems interfacing with AC2000. Room booking feature Also new to AC2000 v.7.1 is the room booking feature using Microsoft Outlook in conjunction with CEM’s emerald intelligent access touch screen reader and controller. Using either Outlook or the emerald terminal at the meeting room door, users now can streamline the meeting process by creating, editing and displaying room booking information for ongoing or new meetings. Smooth card system migration Systems administrators will find it possible under v.7.1 to enrol and differentiate multiple active cards per individual, which enables a much smoother transition when migrating to a new card system from an old one or when merging companies that have operated on different card-based access platforms. Other system enhancements to AC2000 include improved AC2000 WEB interface and feature redesigns to the Data Import tool and software applications for Personnel, Visitors and Extended Reports. Building on the existing range of video, perimeter, fire and intrusion integrations, AC2000 now offers new integrations with Zettler Profile MZX Fire Panels, Commend VirtuoSIS Intercom System, and Otis Panorama Elevator Management System.

With the release of AC2000 v7, emerald now offers more at the door with configurable personal messages which are displayed to individual cardholders as they swipe their card on the emerald terminal. New as part of v7, AC2000 intercom software can now be deployed as a standalone installation on dedicated intercom workstations where full AC2000 system functionality is not required. The Voice over IP (VoIP) intercom functionality provided with emerald, allows calls to be initiated from the AC2000 workstation to one or more emerald terminals. This is a convenient and cost effective way to have intercom communication between operators and emerald terminals. Simplifies the process of personnel enrollment Another new software feature in AC2000 supports business efficiency and flexibility by validating cards on the AC2000 system using any online reader which greatly simplifies the process of personnel enrollment. A range of new AC2000 WEB applications now supports day to day security operations via a standard web browser. These include applications to acknowledge/cancel alarms in one operation, manage zones and a quick and easy way to configure third party interfaces, and more. Building on the existing range of video, perimeter, fire and intrusion integrations, AC2000 now offers new integrations including a two way integration with Salto offline locks utilising SHIP (Salto Host Interface Protocol), a fully featured interface to Genetec Security Center, and a Permaconn Interface which enables Contact ID alarm messages from CEM AC2000 to be passed to Permaconn’s Central Monitoring Station.
