Oncam surveillance cameras deliver a comprehensive view of IBS-Mapei’s loading areas, one-way system and site perimeter Oncam, the security division of Oncam Technologies, announced recently that IBS-Mapei, a leading manufacturer of adhesive and chemical products for the construction industry, has deployed Oncam’s 360-degree surveillance platform to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Safeguarding the workplace while maximising operations is critical in the supply chain and warehouse environment. With a workforce comprised of individuals from more than 25 nationalities — many of whom do not speak the same language — IBS-Mapei sought a technology platform that could augment the efforts of its on-site personnel to limit the occurrence of safety incidents and monitor the cause of any that occur. IBS-Mapei deployed 360-degree IP camera technology from Oncam at seven sites to provide total situational awareness. The ability to monitor an entire 360-degree field of view, with no blind spots, allows organisations to gain new levels of insight into its security and business operations. Up to four traditional cameras can be replaced with one 360-camera, reducing upfront expenditures and installation costs while gaining a wider field of view. The detailed images from the Oncam surveillance cameras deliver a comprehensive view of IBS-Mapei’s loading areas, one-way system and site perimeter. Video is available for review for up to 30 days, available for post-event investigations if an issue arises. Use of the cameras is optimised due to the 360-design, which ensures no blind spots and eliminates the need to fine-tune the cameras to enhance viewing. “The detail the cameras give us is invaluable,” said Christopher Lacey, Quality Assurance, Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, IBS-Mapei. “The video from the Oncam cameras captured vehicle movements that led us to add road markings to reduce the chances of an accident on property and improve operational efficiency. For making educated decisions on how best to manage our site from a health and safety perspective, Oncam’s 360-degree cameras are a must.” “IBS Mapei is focused on ensuring a safe and healthy workplace environment and Oncam’s surveillance solutions are a valuable addition to the company’s safety initiatives,” said Adrian Marsh, COO, Oncam. “The organisation has realised significant benefits and cost savings by deploying the 360-degree imaging platform, while gaining access to video images that help maintain regulatory requirements.”
Adrian will set a strong direction and strategy for Oncam’s sales and management teams worldwide Oncam, The security division of Oncam Technologies, has named industry veteran Adrian Marsh as its new COO. Graham Wallis will continue as Oncam’s Regional President of the Americas but will transition the role of COO, effective immediately. Marsh has been in the IT industry for more than 30 years, having started as an R&D engineer in the telecommunications space. He then spent 10 years at technology-incubator and telecom pioneer Newbridge Networks and, after it exceeded $1 billion in annual revenues and had obtained the number-one market share in the Wide Area Network market, he took his talents to Nortel Enterprise Division (now Avaya), where he spent seven years in senior roles from Global Accounts to heading up their EMEA channel. However, the burgeoning and soon-to-be integral world of information security beckoned. Marsh joined Trend Micro, a $1 billion global leader in the industry, where he was initially responsible for global business operations pertaining to small-to-medium sized businesses with their unique IT needs. He helped to rapidly build this segment, and it became responsible for approximately 30 percent of Trend Micro’s overall revenues. Subsequently, he was responsible for running the company’s European channels and he eventually became vice president of international markets. Immediately prior to joining Oncam, Adrian had successfully established his own consultancy business, Cirrus Europe, advising both technology startups and more established companies on channel strategy as well as how to enter new markets. He was especially effective with companies looking to reinvigorate an established channel or to evolve strategy reflective of today’s omnipresent cloud-computing paradigm. “The COO is a vital role, and Adrian’s vast expertise will help position us as the leading security and technology firm going into the future,” said Firas I. Bashee, Group CEO for Oncam Technologies, “Utilising his extraordinary background, Adrian will set a strong direction and strategy for our company’s sales and management teams worldwide.”
