The Wisenet Automatic Incident Detection (AID) solution, which has been developed as a result of Hanwha Techwin and analytics specialist Sprinx Technologies combining their expertise, has been shortlisted for an Intertraffic Amsterdam Innovation Award.
Wisenet AID is one of three solutions on the shortlist for the prestigious Traffic Management category which has been announced by an international jury of transportation experts. The winner will be announced at the opening ceremony of the Intertraffic Amsterdam exhibition taking place 20-23 March 2018 at RAI Amsterdam. “We are proud that together with Hanwha Techwin we have developed a solution which has been recognised as being innovative by the World's leading traffic Industry event. This is further confirmation of the power of the combination of our mutual technologies and expertise.,” said Paola Clerici, General Manager and Commercial & Marketing Director of Sprinx Technologies s.r.l. “We have trust in our partnership with Hanwha Techwin, which is why we have decided to work only with their video surveillance products and are making every effort to promote our joint solution in the traffic management market.”
The Wisenet AID solution takes full advantage of the massive processing power of the chipset incorporated into Wisenet X cameras. This allows all application functions to simultaneously operate on the edge and offers a major advantage over competitors’ camera which is only able to deliver a limited number of functions at one time. Wisenet X cameras are also equipped with a ½” Full HD image sensor which offers Hanwha Techwin technology partners, such as Sprinx Technologies, the freedom to develop innovative, practical features which provide real-world benefits to end-users. 3D object recognition technology
In addition, 3D object recognition technology, which is which is unique to the Wisenet AID solution, significantly negates the risk of false alarms compared to conventional 2D technology used in other cameras. Wisenet Automatic Incident Detection (AID) is an easy to deploy and highly accurate city wide incident detection solution which is designed to be affordable for budget conscious local authorities.
Hanwha Techwin engineers have worked very closely with the Sprinx Technologies team to meet the expectations of traffic managers who are tasked with resolving the challenge of the ever increasing number of vehicles causing congestion within city centres and on highways and motorways. Traffic AID lets operators instantly know when traffic is slowing down and whether there is a lengthening queue. It will also detect broken down or illegally stopped vehicles and if there is a wrong way driver, a pedestrian in danger or there is smoke in a tunnel. It will even spot if some cargo has fallen off a lorry!
Traffic AID utilises intelligent image processing to quickly alert operators about specific traffic related events whilst at the same time enables statistical data such as vehicle classification, counting and flow to be recorded. Traffic AID’s intuitive web user interface enables operators to specify detection zones and parameters and to analyse statistical data via easy on the eye graphics and charts. An event journal provides a log of all events and snapshots of individual incidents. Traffic AID lets operators instantly know when traffic is slowing down
Affordable module options
For city surveillance managers who do not require the complete Traffic AID package, there are a number of affordable module options available to help them keep traffic and pedestrians on the move. These include: Pedestrian and Stop Detection (PSD), Traffic Flow and Traffic Data, whilst the Traffic Hub server based application collects and aggregates data from multiple network connected Wisenet cameras and through its interface offers a quick overview of all traffic incidents.
