Synectics has unveiled a new version of its Synergy software, designed to enhance incident accuracy, bolster field intelligence, and fortify video security.
The updated software incorporates innovative geolocation capabilities, a mobile-centric approach to incident documentation, and enhanced video security features, equipping operators to react more swiftly and efficiently.
Enhanced geolocation for precise incident coordination
The latest iteration of Synergy introduces integration with what3words for ultra-precise geolocation tagging. This feature significantly improves the speed and precision of incident coordination, especially in challenging environments that are remote, complex, or difficult to describe.
The platform continues to support various mapping sources, such as OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, and locally stored CAD and image files for comprehensive site and floor plans. The amalgamation of internal, local, and broader situational data provides operators with an extensive view of assets and incident locations.
Field intelligence and real-time collaboration
The updates let field teams coordinate incidents better in the Synergy appWith the new updates, field personnel, including security patrols, maintenance engineers, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) teams, can now collaborate more effectively on incidents using the Synergy mobile app. This functionality allows them to submit evidence, trigger alerts, and initiate workflows directly from their mobile devices, ensuring that critical information is swiftly communicated to the control room.
"By giving field-based personnel the tools to submit evidence back to the control room, we're enabling real-time collaboration and greater situational awareness," states Jon Squires, Head of Product Strategy at Synectics. "Ultimately, this supports improved response times and better outcomes."
Data protection and secure video sharing
To further enhance security, the updated Synergy software includes a video watermarking feature across its web, mobile app, and core system interfaces. This essential security measure embeds the identity of the system owner and the operator's username into live, recorded, and incident video footage.
Such watermarking serves as a robust deterrent against the unauthorised distribution of video content, protecting sensitive data from potential misuse.
