Inner Range has announced the release of Inception Touchscreen V2.5, featuring multiple enhancements aimed at improving user interaction, boosting operational insight, and simplifying support for system owners and installers. This update is part of the ongoing development of the Inception Touchscreen, offering smarter alarm feedback and integrated user help screens.
A noteworthy feature of V2.5 is the addition of installer contact details within the touchscreen interface. This allows site users to easily find and contact their security provider when they need assistance. Additionally, new contextual help options are accessible within the Health, Notifications, and Emergency sections, providing immediate guidance and support resources.
Improved situational awareness
To enhance situational awareness and response times, V2.5 introduces unique audible tones for specific events such as Entry Delay, Exit Delay, and Alarms. These distinctive sounds enable users to understand the system's status without needing to view the display, thereby reducing confusion during critical moments.
This release further develops alarm activity visibility with notifications now showing when alarms are cancelled or aborted. This feature provides users with clearer insights into system operation and alarm management directly via the touchscreen. In addition, new power optimisation features allow the touchscreen to more effectively manage Wi-Fi connectivity, display brightness, and sound settings for improved efficiency.
Interface and usability improvements

The update presents a series of interface enhancements, including better navigation, improved area selection screens, updated settings, and enhanced data validation. Emergency activation functions have been refined with an automatic reset feature to boost usability and minimise accidental activations.
"The Inception Touchscreen has quickly become a popular user interface option for Inception systems due to its intuitive design and modern user experience," commented Steve Mitchell, Director of Product at Inner Range. "Version 2.5 continues that evolution by making the touchscreen easier to use, easier to support and more informative for end users while improving overall system resilience."
