Traditional security measures, such as manual checks by guards, can be unreliable. Therefore, regulating and monitoring access to different areas of the facility is crucial to its operations, especially given the existence of numerous restricted zones.

To address these challenges, the Monmouth County Detention Center has integrated Morse Watchman's KeyWatcher® system. This wall-mounted key storage solution streamlines key management by superseding outdated methods like manual logs and disorganised tags. KeyWatcher enhances security by only dispensing keys to users with authorised access, and it meticulously records the history of each key's use, including user identity and time stamps.
Guard tour system enhancements
In addition to key management improvements, the facility also utilises the PowerCheck® Guard Tour system. This handheld, digital tool provides an efficient way to document staff activities accurately. It includes a built-in keypad, enabling officers to log incidents using a selection of 99 pre-set codes. These codes are easily downloaded to a computer for further analysis and reporting.
The Tour-Pro™ Software complements the guard tour system by allowing data from these tours to be downloaded and managed through a Windows® application. The software enables the generation of custom reports that can be filtered by various time frames, offering insights into the security operations and revealing patterns or areas of improvement when necessary.
By deploying the KeyWatcher and PowerCheck systems, the Monmouth County Detention Center has bolstered its security framework. The KeyWatcher ensures staff can access the appropriate keys promptly, and alerts are issued if keys go missing or are not returned on time.
