Gunnebo Safe Storage has seen two of its leaders enter key roles in Eurosafe, highlighted by the election of Mark Brookes as President.
Eurosafe, founded in Paris in 1988, unites national safe manufacturers' associations from across Europe, aiming to advance best practices and foster the development of unified standards for secure storage products, including safes and strongrooms.
Role and responsibility
Mark Brookes was appointed as President following a vote by Eurosafe members, ratified by the General Assembly. In his new role, he will direct the strategic efforts of the association, promoting collaboration with national member organisations to encourage consistent secure storage approaches throughout Europe.

Mark chairs CEN TC 263, which develops European standards for secure storageConcurrent with his Eurosafe Presidency, Mark also chairs the CEN Technical Committee 263, which is tasked with developing and maintaining European standards for secure storage of cash, valuables, and data media. CEN/TC 263 establishes the testing and performance benchmarks for products such as safes, strongrooms, and ATMs, guaranteeing security and reliability across both EU and non-EU countries in Europe.

Current experience
Mark also serves as Chair of CEN Technical Committee 263. This is a technical position responsible for the development and maintenance of European standards for the secure storage of cash, valuables and data media.
CEN/TC 263 sets the testing and performance requirements for a wide range of products, including safes, strongrooms, data cabinets, fire rooms and ATMs. Its work ensures products meet consistent levels of security, fire protection and reliability across Europe, including both EU and non-EU countries.
